Pat McCourt shows the critics here - a great talent. Scored a cracker v falkirk tonight. Would do great in la liga as he is technically v good and won't have to deal with the hackers in Scotland. Often guys who could be a lot more successful aren't because they don't train hard enough, or they party too much, or they don't realise that you really do have to give 100% on matchday. I've heard Paddy McCourt was a bit of a party animal in his younger days. There's no doubt that if he works hard he has the skill to play in the SPL, and I think the discipline he'll get a Celtic park will help him.
Er..... he hasn't joined Serie A or La Liga ya know! If he gets a chance he'll be able to do well in the SPL too no problem. If Ivan Sproule could do it, so can Paddy McCourt. Sproule was OK but he was never half the player McCourt is and never will be. McCourt is pure raw talent waiting to be harnessed. But I think Strachan will never give him a break.

last thursday pat's beat a team 6th in russian league while a scottish team were beaten 5-1 at home to a team from czech republic.

i watched him week in week out in the brandywell, this guy has a great talent and I know everyone in derry is behind him. He will have a great impact on the SPL and i hope every celtic fan gets to watch this man in full flight as he is a great player with a great attitude

He would play if he had been picked. He has been contionously overlooked by the IFA for the past few years despite being the best player in Ireland. If he had been playing for Linfield he would have had a lot more caps by now. I hope he is called up to the NI squad, plays one game, has a blinder then tells the IFA they can stick their international setup up their holes and retires from international football.

cillyutj you seem to be forgetting henrik larsson only cost us 700 000 from feyenoord and what did he do that was so special before he moved here? and look what he became! or if you want someone more recent how about scott mcdonald who only cost us 600 000 or so from motherwell and look what he's done for us so far. or even boruc who cost us 700 000 I'd rather have an unknown player sign for us once and a while than a big money spending flop like gravesen, massimo donati, juninho, virgo etc etc.

The boy looks good. \Two good feet, strength, moves well into space, heading ability, pace, makes space for team mates. Going on what I've seen, Pat looks every inch true Celtic calibre. Reminds me a bit of myself, ha ha. I'd be surprised if he doesn't become a Celtic favourite.

Hunt and doyle went from eircom leauge to championship in england with reading and then to premier leauge -'the best leauge in the world' - and did'nt do to bad so i say paddy is better than both of em and so will do great in the spl!! Hail, hail!!
