  • I loved the movie. I just wish it would've had more of an ending. Other than that great performances from the whole cast, and very creepy music that makes the movie even better.

  • Didn't get anything by the trailer.

  • @fty170 it's metaphor watch the film to understand it.

  • uhhhhhh gaul was a country not two gay guys correct?

  • @fty170 In this case I think it's refering to the ancient statue of that name... Google it and you'll see.

  • Finally I found a copy of it at our local public library. Its Fantastic. Patricia Clarkson and Peter Sarsgaard are EXCELLENT.

  • Question: Why is Thomas Jay Ryan continually touted as being in this film? He doesn't appear in a single frame of this movie. Not even in voice over or in a newspaper ad. Nothing!

  • Campbell Scott is a convincing Homo.

  • very good movie!

  • Brilliant, brilliant movie! All 3 lead actors were fantastic. Sarsgaard best work to date. I've always loved Campbell Scott. And Patty Clarkson just rocks! A chilling story.

  • The original Hellenistic statue was of a fallen dying Celt, like the later Christos crux, called the 'Dying Galatian' in English the substition for another Celtic/Gallic enemy was part of the Roman copy and tribute to worthy foes.

  • No resemblance to Virginia Woolf whatsoever. Lovely film, however. Also, the Dying Gaul sculpture has had a queer reading for quite some time, now.

  • I cried during the movie....The pain of all the characters is so obvious and at the same time so withdrawn....this is an intense movie, that makes you look at the other side of people...and certainly look at the other side of yourself!!!! Do we control our emotions, or do the emotions control us??

  • ouuhh...what a speech..you should my therapist

  • I wouldn't recommend that, because I barely make it as my own!!! :-)

  • Awful movie. Good play. The playwright should never have directed/written the screenplay.

  • Good flick.

  • what's the name of the song at the end??

    please!...

  • steve reich // proverbs

  • @riffnez hello . i may be answering this a little bit late, but the song is Proverb by Steve Reich . I was also looking for the song's name... found it in the film's credits . it's really good .

  • this movie was really good... especially the end ... its not depessing like requiem of a dream.. but.. its really sad

  • Well,I have always loved the statue!- I don't know if I'd like this film. Seems so depressing.

    Thankx!

  • I love the statue as well and I also liked the movie. It isn't exactly depressing, but it does take you to some sad places. Watch it - I watched it on some internet channel.

  • So creepy I don't really know what to make of this movie but thanks for the accurate description.
