  • Mark:hello

    Sean: somethings happened

    Mark :shit

  • This song was in one of the best scenes ever

  • Sean Parker - "Listen, something's happened......."

  • omg this song on a science fiction movie would be awesome

  • @MiguelGuedesPinto Reality is stranger than fiction. Evelyn De Rothschild, the bankers, the Jews, the American Shadow Government, deaths of people who dared to stand up to these people. It's all coming together.

  • If only it did not have this constant flicker from left to right, if you know what I mean? :x The piano play itself seems rather beautiful. :)

  • shivers at 2:54

  • for me, this is perfect background music

  • My favorite Trent Reznor instrumental.

  • It caught me by surprise when everybody died at the end.

  • @Michael326 Epic spoiler is epic.

  • @Michael326 hahahahahaahaah

  • "Listen...something's happened..."

  • While Mark is listening to Sean tell him about the party, the lights slowly turn off behind him in the offices of Facebook. This song starts to play.

  • @ASunsetSilhouette Uhm, okay?

  • O good lord this soundtrack made the movie so much more deep and powerful. Love when the piano rolls in. It's like the water pouring out of cracks on an overstressed dam.

  • "Go hom, Sean."

  • "Just leave."

  • EXELENT !

  • 0:00 - 1:16 = depressing beyond belief

    1:17 - 1:35 = distantly hopeful

    1:36 - 2:14 = I don't even know how if it's happy or sad

2:14 - 2:53 = hopeful even though things are going terribly

2:54 - 3:53 = depressing again, like the end of the world.

  • @0180917 Brilliant!

  • @0180917 I have a totally different subjugated view of this song,lol.

  • @0180917 1:36 - 2:14 is not happy. That is not the sound of happiness nor comfort. In fact, 1:36 - 2:14 is the most ominous part of the song.

2:54 to end is the sound of Shadow Government watching the world in glee after the deed is done.

  • To me this song illustrates the point at which Marc realized that he was alone in the world. He alienated everyone who ever cared for him. And that is an empty existence.

  • "Go Home Shawn!!!!"

  • just bought the soundtrack on itunes :)

  • though I love Han Zimmer I must say I've never heard music quite like this. Which is why I believe it won.

  • I like to hum gently to this song when I have anxiety.

  • Who could have guessed The Social Network was a Quake sequel?

  • @JohnS117 your opinion... the fact that it's simple doesn't mean its easy to make. i make music too

  • This music perfectly sums up Mark's realisation that he was idolising a child.

  • This is scary.

  • @JohnS117 huh no..........................

  • @JohnS117 screw u damn it if u dont like the damn song then STFU,dont comment on it first of all, and move your hatred somewhere else u cunt

  • @JohnS117 Wow, your shit comment is horrible. Lay off the hate path, a child could do that very easily.

  • @JohnS117 I think I crapped you out about eight months ago.

  • @SurfaceCollison, haha no.

The child that you "crapped" out was not me, it was your abomination of an offspring which in fact did come out of your vagina. Regardless, the fact that you are so naive to believe that your 8-month-old baby is capable enough to comment on youtube only further serves to prove my point that the people who enjoy Reznor's "music" are indeed morons obsessed with his cock. I feel pity for you.

  • @JohnS117 Well you got a point there . . . I am obsessed with my cock, and at least I have one worth obsessing over.

  • @SurfaceCollison So you are a hermaphrodite? Regardless, the fact that you compare your own cock to Reznor's cock still further proves my point that you are obsessed with Reznor's cock. For your own sake, hop off of his dick

  • @JohnS117 Are you a homophobe?

  • MY FAVORITE !

  • Trent Reznor just won the Oscar for this brilliant piece of music. My friends, the Oscars now have a great taste in music again.

  • very moving song

  • this beckons traces of badalamenti and bad dreams! stunning!!!!!

  • I am only just getting to this soundtrack... I love this tune and In Motion in particular. this one is so sad but freeing somehow.

  • At this point Mark realized he screwed over his true and only friend and wish he could go back

  • "Go home, Sean."

  • Something so simple can make you feel so strange. Love this music.

  • This is what I begin to hear every night as soon as my head hits the pillow.

  • I'm not sure why but this is making me a little calmer, though it describes exactly how I'm feeling at this point without words. Thank God for Trent Reznor. <3

  • It's like inhaling and exhaling deeply in a shaky nervous state, but all the while beautiful.

  • it's even more fun reading idiot tattoo 'artists' comments and make grand declarations on how to like music=)

  • Anyone else feel a little uneasy?

  • @Airman711 Yup

  • off nin vids if you don't like

  • @tattoosjohn69 - he never told his fans to kill themselves you dumb shithead AND who gives a FUCK about contests? My GOD ur a FAG. Blah blahblah blah blah blahblahblah. If you're an ex fan, get a life and move on. I don't go to your blackeyedpeas vids and cry so grow up an stay the fuck

  • @austin4x yes he did and i can prove it. all my shit spewing i can backup. you're right- there is a lot better music out there i discovered after NIN's downward spiral of destruction. it is just too fun hearing all the ninnies get their panties in a wod defending their fagboy.

  • my favorite track from the entire soundtrack. packs the same wallop as 'a warm place' off the downward spiral.

  • Really lump-in-the-throat moment when Jesse is left alone in the FB HQ, sans any friends...

  • What song on 13 minute from Movie? Please

  • This is wonderful. It really does SOUND like anxiety. Brilliant stuff. I love this soundtrack.

  • Guess who's one again collaborating with Atticus Ross for another David Fincher film? THAT'S RIGHT!!! Trent just recently announced that he and Atticus Ross are one again collaborating to construct and compose the score for David Fincher's 2011 adaptation of Steig Larson's "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" out in December!!!

  • @JesusCristo2002 woop de fucking do. trent sucks!

  • @tattoosjohn69 You reallly have nothing better to do, do you? Get off the fucking page, quit annoying Nine Inch Nails/How To Destroy Angels/Trent Reznor fans, because you're wasting everybody's time.

  • @tattoosjohn69 fuck your shit bro , if you don't like it why the fuck are you on the page in the first place you stupid winey little bitch no one wants your fucking douchebag self on here so fuck the hell off trent reznor is amazing.

  • Where can I get these tracks?

  • @libbern

    Nevermind. Stupid question^^

  • I can see Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross and Clint Mansell working on something great together one day! just imagine the possibilities. Amazing, his music has always gripped me and at moments I've thought of it as the soundtrack to my life, It evokes some much emotion.

  • "Go home, Sean."

  • the BGM of 127 hours is better :(

  • trent reznor o.o *sigh*.... and I am glad they got a golden globe nomination :)

  • @chibivampire90 and won it!(:

  • damn this sing really wreck my emotions

  • this song makes me cry literally

  • I for one, would not be too pissed if Trent decided to just work on soundtracks from now on. This and the song he did for that Tetsuo film are the best stuff he's made in a long time imho. I think Ghosts was good, but there are lot of skippable tracks it would've stronger as one disc of the best songs and I liked the slip, but it only feels like a half album when you get past the 5th or 6th song it just sinks for me. Anyway I dont wanna sound critical really Iove Trent's music- he is a legend.

  • @sparkydeltorro Completely agree with you man. I wouldn't think anything less of Trent for going on to only producing movie soundtracks.... in fact... i'd respect him even more. Trent will always be there as one of my favorite break-through artists of all time.

  • the song is such a triumph for caturing melancholy. The perfect song for letting go / being depressed. Such a great score, really conveys the mood.

  • SOme dipshits probably dont even know who trent reznor is! a rock legend!

  • .. this one is cool, but it reminds me the GHOSTS a lot.

  • @mmmarkule

that's precisely why I like it -- Trent really needs to do another Ghost-type album.

  • 1 person clearly got reject by Erica as a friend.......

  • The song...the WHOLE score fit in to the film so well. It enchanced it in a way.

  • 01:00 - 01:36 reminds me of how i feel if im stuck w/ depression.

almost like i feel like im on a highway, swerving through traffic at night, and not knowing where im really headed.

Then finally i start feeling some relief towards the end, like thinking of all the positive things and memories.

(btw, this fit the scene PERFECTLY, and matched Eisenberg's expressions flawlessly).

  • Music is one of the best things that ever happened to the world.

  • i thought this song was used really effectively in the movie! loved all the music in the film!!!

  • @FlameingAlchemistt Satin? As in the slippery shiny fabric?

  • @FlameingAlchemistt Pogokoala is going to hell!

  • This song is pretteh chill.

  • That's crazy, this song captures the way I've been feeling perfectly the past 45 days... and the way I expect to feel for the next 959 ._.

  • I survived a quite tragic event involving me and a girl that is very dear to me at the end of August (she survived too) and this song really capture the emotion and re-create the way I felt at the hospital when I was separated from her, didn't really know if she had survived... didn't really know if I would survive... didn't really know anything anymore... I was so lost and so weak... it's in these moments we realise we are only human and our existance is fragile... I learned my lesson... ;-;

  • It reminded me of the Dust Brothers from the Fight Club soundtrack, I did not know that Trent Renzor was originally a part of Nine Inch Nails until a Google search. It is very evident in the opening title scene when Zuckerburg is running to his dorm.

  • @buriedandme00 :

Trent Reznor IS nine inch nails

  • I see some Fight Club in here

  • Imagine if Trent Reznor did an original score for an Alfred Hitchcock film during his lifetime? He would of been the Bernard Hermann of his day (in case you didn't know Bernard Hermann did the original scores for all of Hitchcock's pictures from the 40s and up).

  • This seems quite alright

Really looking forward to seeing the actual movie and how the music is used.

  • BRAVO REZNOR!! This is a great sound track! And I second the notion for more Reznor film score particularly for Nolan movies!!

  • Trent has never left us.

  • Bravo austin4x! NIN fans are a special breed, and, well, the real ones stick with him and support him through whatever he does. So pogokoala, keep talking shit about someone who is on a complete different and higher level than you will ever achieve in your pathetic brainwashed life... bitch!!

  • Damn - Trents just a genius of sound and emotion.

Love this type of deep and brooding production. Really reminds me of other dark and reflective acts like Massive Attack, Radiohead, Portishead, DJ Krush, Tricky, Unkle, Allflaws

  • @tripitzzzz agreed.

  • @tripitzzzz You can not compare trent reznor to anybody. Thumbs Down.

  • @tripitzzzz all those bands you mentioned suck, please kill yourself

  • @diekontrolleure then why would you listen to this then/

  • @colinffc dont know, why do you listen to this if you think it sucks?

  • Comment removed

  • @tripitzzzz Yes, you can really hear some of those influences (including DJ Shadow) but Reznor has his own unforgettable sound.

  • If you like this Social Network soundtrack so far I'm pretty sure you'd enjoy Atticus Ross' The Book of Eli soundtrack. Its also just as awesome as this

  • Pogokoala is a fag who trolls Trents songs on YouTube and talks shit about his wife like he knows anything. Obviously another ex fan dissapointed that he married someone else.

  • @austin4x trent married i did know that congrates trent.

  • @austin4x trent has tons of ex fans b/c he told them to kill themselves and never followed through on contests. once he met his wife (hot bod, fug face) he started spewing her shit out his mouth. fuck trent and his fanboy cocksuckers.

  • I can't wait for the rest of the soundtrack to be revealed! I've been listening to the five-song sampler all day!

  • Does anyone get a Thomas Newman vibe from this?

  • @w7i1 definitely feeling the Thomas Newman vibe.

The Social Network is the new American Beauty confirmed. hah

  • @ahvostik Thomas Newman is an excellent composer, I hope Trent does more soundtracks for future films by David Fincher, Darren Aronofsky, Christopher Nolan and Paul Thomas Anderson in the future.

  • I bet this sounds amazing on the theater sound system.

  • @pogokoala hahaha the irony's so thick i'm laughing myself silly. go back to your usual playlist of faggy mainstream music u cocksucking fag coz u suck even harder by not knowing u suck balls

  • La Mer's son

  • This is amazing!!! I hope the movie matches the soundtrack in amazingness.

  • @frankiszero hahaha you suck hahahaha!
