hey bro dem kids remind of me the poor neighborhood kids from my old hometown in Waikiki, Hawaii. I am half-filipino and visited the Pinas several times, these kids are really nice despite having nothing. i think one of em looks like bruce lee haha. that is the Filipino way bruddah! you are doing a good thing man god bless

@acorntechnique What are you talking about? This is none of what you said. Read the title and description. They are squatter kids. This is their neighborhood. The government gave them money to build a cement basketball court.

Squatter kids are the children who live in squatter areas. Squatter areas are places that people take over when they dont own the land like condemned houses and buildings, or government land or private property not being guarded. They move in and kind of take over and build their own houses out of metal sheets for roofs, make their own bricks, bamboo...wood...

@acorntechnique Squatters are all over the world pretty much. Even the USA has them. but in the Philippines there are millions and millions of them all over. They build their houses out of their own cement, bricks, peices of wood from used things, bamboo, and other random things that might support something or provide cover. Discarded things. They are very creative at making crazy houses! Usually they are so small like a small shack. Sometimes the gov. lets them own the land over time.

@MaharlikaAWA And other times the land might be privately owned and the owner might eventually let the people live, or somehow cant get them out and puts up with them. OR he hires people to kick them out with force. Sometimes the squatters can make small payments and rent over time. But people live all over the land everywhere. Under bridges, parks, forest, sides of the road, everywhere. Then slum dwellers own or rent very very cheap apartments or project areas or just dumpy houses.
