But as a veteran, I take GREAT pride in knowing that my fellow Americans chose to honor my fallen Brothers and Sisters with a symbol of their faith. They are honoring our Warriors in the greatest way they know of. They are not attempting to be indifferent or to alienate, they are showing great respect. I noticed that when you see the far side of the monument there is a group of smaller, eroded boulders. To me they look just like a formation of soldiers standing guard. God bless all our brave veterans.
They covered it with plywood because when the sun would shine behind the tarp that originally covered it, you could see the cross! Now it looks like some ridiculous billboard. What a sad state of affairs we are at in this country when the mere sight of a cross is so offensive to some.
