  • Forewarning those bean sprouts are an acquired taste.

  • Made this for dinner last night, and it was the first time my dad didn't hate what I cooked for him. SUCCESS! :-D

  • Could you show a tutorial on how to shake the pan like what you did on 1:19? :D

  • I don't believe I just discovered your channel now! All your recipes are so student friendly (cheap/fast) :)

    Keep it up!! x

  • I love how you guys always say "Half the time" but really you do like 1/4 of the time it actually takes. You guys are too modest. Stay awesome and keep cooking.

  • I'm making this tonight! I can't wait!

  • Is corn flour the same thing as corn starch?

  • could i use regular flour if i dont have corn flour?

  • If you bring a guy from China to a Chinese restaurant in a Westernized country, he won't have any idea what anything is. :p Food for thought.

  • do you need to add the corn flour?

  • @randomeese it thickens up the sauce, so it's up to you!

  • @Imontano0 use tamari. Low salt. No gluten

  • I have a gluten intolerance. What can I use instead of soy sauce?

  • @lmontano0 You can get gluten-free soy sauce, I think the brand my aunt and mum use is called Bragg.

  • mmmmmmmmmmm

  • the chef is sooooooo very hot.

  • I have a very picky boyfriend who is not a fan of ketchup. What could I use in place of that?

  • How much did it work out to, cost wise?

  • I would very much like to have sex with the tubby one.

  • @debrucey And if you marry the non-tubby one then he will make you great dishes every time! ;)

  • I love to add bell peppers and red onions in my sweer and sour, just some extra flavour and the pepper give in added crunch. Lovely!

  • LOL cocaine!

  • i want have a try thanks guys

  • nice Chest Hair Ben haha ..

  • When you cut, do you move the knife towards the thing you're cutting, or the thing you're cutting toward the knife?

  • I tried this the other day...but my chicken didn't go as brown as yours when I put it in the pan...yours seemed to sort of sizzle and go all nice and brown...mine just kind of dried up :/ did I not have enough vinegar? I put in about 3 1/2 table spoons like on the site said. Also although it had red grapes on the pot it looked much lighter than your vinegar...

  • @abarnybox your pan needs to be absolutely hot, maybe just before it starts smoking, that way it sears the meat, browning it nicely. The vinegar doesn't add color, or shouldn't, it's the soy and the hot pan(oil/butter in it).

  • @Syninara The first time I said vinegar I meant soy sauce, sorry.

and ok thanks, I'll try it again with a hotter pan :)

  • Made some last night! :D Supper yummy though I may have added a little too much vinegar but I still enjoyed it :)

  • Pork would be ten times better

  • sweet and sour chicken isn't even a chinese dish : P

  • @MrPolybus OH!! so THAT explains why I ate it on friday (chinese takeaway day)....

  • @mopryIScool lol "chinese takeaway" i live in China u mong

  • @MrPolybus the same way tikka masala isn't indian :)

  • @abarnybox more like butter chicken : P

  • @MrPolybus i expected you to say that...but chinese food is chinese food, your comment wont change anyones view...

  • @mopryIScool What do you mean "i expect you to say that" and i wasn't intending to change anyones views...was merely stating an interesting fact which not many people know about.

  • @MrPolybus of course you dont know what im talking about...

  • @mopryIScool Grow up.

  • @mopryIScool lol i just saw your videos. ur just child. stupid cunt, stop arguing about things with childish comments like "of course you dot know what I'm talking about" you don't have to reply to comments contradicting them for no reason at all. Retard.

  • @MrPolybus thanks for taking the time to watch my videos, i appreciate it very very much...

  • @mopryIScool oh and from the look of your youtube comments, people think ur a little bitch 2. Obviously been doing the same thing on tons of other videos. well done /clap

  • @mopryIScool it's not authentically Chinese food... What you know as "Chinese food" isn't Chinese food lol. @MrPolybus lives in China? I bet he knows more about real Chinese food than you. Stop being so ethnocentric.

  • @Rachiewoowoo id giv a fuck, k?

  • @mopryIScool hahahah can't argue with logic, can you? ignorant idiot.

  • @Rachiewoowoo takes one to know one :D cant argue with logic, can you?...

  • Doesn't ketchup already have vinegar in it? Why add more?

  • is that how they make sweet and sour chicken in uk? O_O we have a COMPLETELY different version here in ny. ^____^ but yours look beautiful still. and prbly delicious too.

  • Yes yes, adding cocaine really does make a difference.

  • hmm... you know you could try using capsicum and pineapple... then it would be really asian style... plus onions. :)

  • rich flavours.

  • MAAAAAM! the FISH is out of the FISH tank. god I hate that kid

  • I was wondering how you cooked the rice like that because whenever I do it, the rice at the bottom always sticks to the pan. I have tried with adding olive oil which reduced the rice stuck at the bottom from burning but I wondered how you made your rice so fluffy?

  • @tnsofia93 Maybe a rice cooker. My mom has one for when she does white rice.

  • @zebrax92 I can't afford a rice cooker ):

  • I'm Indian so I don't really eat beef. And cooking chicken is a pretty difficult task for a teenager. Or so I thought! This is the EASIEST chicken dish to make! Also, I love Chinese so I'll try this soon! Thanks Sorted!

  • Can we use thigh?

  • love it

  • Jamie :)

  • Barry has a beautiful forehead. he looks really good in this video.

  • I have to make some comments about other peoples' comments. XD

1-Shrimp is vegitarian? o.0 I do so love shrimp, but, I never thought it was vegitarian....

2-I knew you hurt your finger a while back, Ben. But. O.O Quote:"..took several months to grow back" Did you carve a chunk of flesh outta you instead of the cooking meat?

  • Could you make a vegetarian version of this? Like, with a tofu or maybe shrimp?

  • @MsPainfullyAwkward Of course, give it a try and let us know how you get on!

  • @MsPainfullyAwkward Yes of course! I would even say - use both for more food! I mean - both tofu and shrimps.

  • haha i love ben, he has such a sarcastic, dry sense of humour, which is usually why i watch the sorted videos, well, asides from the delicious grub they make lol

  • would this work using tofu?

  • could you make a chicken chow mein recipe please??

  • what can i substitute red wine vinegar with?

  • 00:30 - Yeah Boy !

  • what happened to your index finger? seemed it hurt a lot :( btw, this video made me hungry. :DD

  • @Aisyah75 a nasty accident with a knife about a year ago... took several months to grow back! It's all okay now but proves you can never be too careful in the kitchen! :S

  • @sortedfood you cut off a part of your finger accidently??????/??

  • @sortedfood ehmm the original recipes supposed to be cooked with pork...

but chicken seems fine..and tasty :)

  • Do you have to put in all the onion and ginger and stuff...I mean will it still taste good and such?

  • 真的很不错!哈哈

  • @renyuzh 为什么那很不酷?

  • i love you guy :)

  • shouldn't be the chicken more crispy than soft???

  • Hiya... I eat this in Hong Kong quite often and it looks almost like it :D But the ones here are typically more orangey, less yellow :D

  • I'm Chinese and I just want you to know that this dish looks very Chinese-y!

  • It works perfect! thank you. I added some peanuts too, it was so good. better than the one in the restaurants.

  • i made that recepy today.

it tastet really good plus i had all the ingredients, except for the beansprouts, at home :)

instead of the beansprouts i used some carrots :D

  • i made that recepy today.

  • My friend and I just made this dish for my parents. It was a big hit and I was surprised at how filling it was! A small portion was more than enough! Thanks Sorted team.

  • do you think you can do like a soup dish? with a sorted twist of course :D

  • @rabidrabitz If you search for "interactive soup SORTED" on YouTube then hopefully you'll find a few options! enjoy!

  • I made it. YUM

  • WANT.

  • Is there anything you can substitute the ketchup with? I find it really . . . gross.

  • @2presiousGurlz Could probs use Tomato Purée, that's what other recipes I've followed have said :)

  • The one you cooked in the video and the end are two different dishes

  • Can you add any vegetables to this or serve it with any?:)

  • Just to be a bit picky, aren't you supposed to chop spring onions lengthways for more authentic Asian presentation?

  • @kingfroggy Never heard of that one before. xD

  • @Caitarian I was watching masterchef Australia a while ago, and a guy got shot for chopping his spring onions wrong.

  • ... is that a tattoo i see on ben?!

  • @iamandge Give us a time index then :-)

  • ...Can i buy the cocaine at tesco's?

  • you should come live with me <3

  • can you use tomato sauc einstead of ketchup? also, can you use white vinegar instead of red vinegar?

  • nomnom

  • can anyone tell me the whole recipe???i cudnt understand???

  • @marine670 all our recipes available on our website... click on the link in the description box to take you to our site where it is all typed up! :D

  • @marine670 how could you not understand? it was well explained? non native? PS guys any advice on which brands are good for white/red/cider vinegar? im not toff but 54p for a bottle in tesco screams crap to me! the same with olive oil 2 quid from b&m? Great vids!

  • @Manchunia88 to be perfectly honest... in a dish like this the vinegar can be any brand... doesn't have to be particularly expensive and the supermarket own brand stuff works fine. If you're making salad dressings or similar then perhaps a more expensive variety would be more beneficial.

  • @sortedfood Aspall good for all viinegars and good for you to

  • hahahah his finger XD

  • i tried this and the chicken was aaamazing ^_^! i never thought i could make something that tastes so good :D

  • You guys are so cool! like, really! :) I'm gonna learn some of these for Uni!! :D Thanks! :)

  • I made this, except that I didn't find the exact recipe for some reason, so I guessed at the measurements. It was quite good.

  • i hope your finger is ok!! :(

  • Lmao. You don't have a rice cooker? And my Chinese friends make that waaaay different.

  • Did this recipe on tuesday. Added some stir fry veg and used pork instead of chicken. My family loved it. Thankyou.

  • Are you not wearing anything under that chef's jacket? :D

  • Wow, you guys are great! I cooked this one today for my family and it was a huge success. Even I liked it (and I´m rather choosy:-)). It was my first real try to cook something from scratch and entirely on my own! Thanks for that, handsome chef-guy!

  • @sortedfood I noticed that on the website you said to add the cornflour twice :S

  • I love sweet and sour sauce, but I'm a vegetarian. Could I substitute the chicken for Quorn or tofu? Many thanks.

  • @MissKikiTheCat absolutely... tofu works well, or even just a mixture of stir-fried veg with the sauce.

  • I am eating this right now! Afraid I overdid it a bit with the vinegar though..

  • When he splashed that sauce over the cutting board around 0:41 I thought Ben cut his finger omgg!

  • I tried this, it was completely my fault, but the sauce came in a gelatin like substance. It annoyed me very much.

  • Thank you Chef. I love your recipes, by the way what's wrong with your finger? It looks so painful. Hope you are better now.

    P.S.

    My students love your accent

  • will balsamic vinegar work instead of red wine vinegar?

  • Your house is soo nice :)

  • i have been spamming your videos all day. and i have noticed.... you almost always have a bandaid on your finger... and its always blue. how?

and i loove this. i had a craving for chinese food and. i saw this and im like. YEEESSS!!!! this is my favorite chinese food dish other than chicken and broccoli. im not sure if you've done that already. but if not. could you?

    ^-^

  • looks good...gonna try that..hmm

  • mouth watering!

  • Can you substitute other pastas? my boyfriend doesn't like rice.

  • @janathelamb3 yeah... great with noodles too.

  • hey chef, it would be better if you had your own homemade ketchup, wouldn't it?i make mine and keep it in the fridge!

  • i thought he was going to drop that bowl : epic fail

  • Chef! Why do you peel your ginger by chopping it? Look how much you've wasted! Why not just use a peeler?

  • @silentelysium You're very right, although in that instance it was all above speed. Check out our SORTED Smoothie video to see THE best way to peel ginger! :D

  • @sortedfood does it annoy you that the first suggested video at the end is a recipe by marco pierre white and not by your channel

  • looks good. but still can't beat the sweet and sour we get in hong kong :)

  • That assistant is annoying as crap.

  • These two make a great team! Perfect chemistry haha.

  • looks tasty! we also mostly have it with pork instead of chicken , cooked with yellow red green peppers and pineapples to make it more sour

  • Oh - just had it! Tastes wonderful :)
