@ShiftyBandit214 Assault horizon legacy thats supposed to be a remake of Ace combat 2 for the Nintendo 3DS, has some scenes put into it you know how on Zero of each introduction scenes of enemy aces on certain missions i found a video that Assault horizon legacy is gonna bring back somehow the creations of ACZ and on top of that you can intiate DFM mode and do all sorts of counter manuvers and that stuff like Assault horizon, personally i think it was a combine of ACZ and ACAH.

Remake air combat through zero and sell them together, then add multiplayer and then assault horizon could be forgotten, the only good part of it was 2 ost songs, otherwise lacking much epicness found in the classic titles
Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation had a "mild" checkpoint system which saved more headaches, rather than reducing the immersion, nor the intensity on the harder difficulties. In fact, no one would blame you for using multiple times, especially on Ace of Aces mode. I'm looking at you Heavy Command Cruiser!
@Black8035 The laser tore through the cockpit quite cleanly, so in my opinion, it's unlikely that he was able to eject in time. You can see the smoke trailing from the cockpit too, as he goes down.

Like GameSpot said, it feels like one big quick-time event with the DFM and it hardly requires any skill to kill or to evade.
I also miss the cool Japanese missions (laser tower and the dam missions were epic), if you'd crash then you'd have to restart the mission, now there are checkpoints. Etc.

At least, Joint Assault had the checkpoint system, but at best, one single per mission, and if you restarted from the checkpoint in case you'd die, then the game kicked you in the nuts by erasing your score/earnings for this mission ^.^ . That was balanced. Though, playing AC Zero made me realize I like the ADFX-02 Morgan more than the ADF Falken. The shape, possibly.

@Emlynlight Mobius squadren was by far the best, does noone remember that amazing feeling on the last mission where everyones callsign matched mobius 1's and thinking "thats my squadren!"

I'm learning all the 3 guitar parts for this song right now so I can do a cover for it. There's the lead guitar, the rhythm guitar, and the muted guitar.
Gives me tingles every single time. And to this day has been my favorite battle music for any game I've played. This game had such a bad ass ending battle.

@Mikkedev well, you also have to remember that AC: Zero had a very heavy Knights/Arthurian lore around it. The last duel was pretty much a jousting match (remember? can only attack from the front?)....with frick'in fighter jets.

@hellfire2721: I have every Ace Combat, from Air Combat to Ace Combat 6, i can't be a hater. In Assault Horizon, there is to much Dogfighting, like in World War I. You're flying between Skyscrapers, 5 Meters behind enemy Planes, you do rolls with your Helicopter, this is no Ace Combat anymore, thats Call of Duty in the Air, it won't be good as the old Ace Combats, but that's just my opinion.

@Chess341 i beat mobius 1 with ciphers aircraft (F-15C eagle) Blaze aircraft razgriz paint (F-14D super tomcat) mobius 1 aircraft isaf paint (F-22A raptor) and yellow 13 aircraft erusia paint (SU-37 terminator)but there some other 2 aces im trying to make up with the standard paint on the F-22 for gryphus 1 and F-15E(strike eagle) for tailsman.yet there no proof of thier emblems exsist on the game and i know that but the color is just right from thier exsistants though.

It's thematically present in the story. Remember the legend? First Razgriz appears as a demon, spreading death and destruction (The Belkan War) and then he slumbers (six months of void) before finally returning as a great hero (vs. A world without borders).
You and I are opposites sides of the same coin. There may be a resemblance, but we'll never face the same direction. When we face each other, we'll finally see our true selves.

The whole Ace Combat series is amazing, but I still can't believe there switching to the real world. I mean one of the things that makes these games so cool is the fact that it takes place in a fictional world, but yet theres plenty of refrences to things that happened in history. But thats just my opinion.
The best part about these late ace combat games is that if you think about it more into dept, these games are more than games - it's actually quite educational as it stirs thoughts and provokes intelligence.
It really beats into the fact that people are really just ordinary people after war, no matter how great they may be during the war.
@gUrLoFnObOdY Yeah, I definitely preferred zero and 5 to 6 in terms of story, because they could be viewed as having more deep meanings behind them, whereas 6 was more hey look sad people.
@Qui3tman Actually, 6 was just really straightforward, and virtually all of the characters in the cutscenes were utterly irrelevant to anything you did until the very, very end of the game.

Anyway, this was my first Ace Combat. I got this DVD from a magazine with a demo of this game (and a bunch of others) on it and I absolutely loved it.
Then I bought Skies of Deception and I was really looking forward to Assault Horizon, but I was so disappointed after playing the demo.
In short (limited space here), it didn't feel like an Ace Combat game.

The whole Ace Combat series is amazing, but I still can't believe there switching to the real world. I mean one of the things that makes these games so cool is the fact that it takes place in a fictional world, but yet theres plenty of refrences to things that happened in history. But thats just my opinion.

The best part about these late ace combat games is that if you think about it more into dept, these games are more than games - it's actually quite educational as it stirs thoughts and provokes intelligence.
It really beats into the fact that people are really just ordinary people after war, no matter how great they may be during the war.

@gUrLoFnObOdY Yeah, I definitely preferred zero and 5 to 6 in terms of story, because they could be viewed as having more deep meanings behind them, whereas 6 was more hey look sad people.

It isn't from the game or an outside source. I found the song to be particularly inspiring the first time I heard it, and so I wrote a small piece to express the way in which the music made me feel. I'm happy that people seemed to have enjoyed it. :)

Jousting with jets was pretty epic, all that lore symbolism was awesome in zero
I hope Assault Horizon brings insanity to the real world locations. I want to fight a modern day tech-ed up flying fortress thing just for the hell of it, Rule of cool is all ace combat needs to justify their bosses lol
