  • this just helped with my chemistry homework BIG TIME! thank youuu!!!

  • I LOVE YOU MAN!

  • Thanks I finally Got it. OMG:)

  • i love this video , i was loving the beat ! , lol, it really helped me understand my instructor's "fence' method.

  • Thank you so much i wasn't paying attention in class and now my teacher thinks i'm a bad students i'll show that basterd

  • Thank you so much I absolutely could not learn this in class but you taught me. Good job explaining I really got it!

  • i love this you make learning funny and easy

  • Exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks a lot !

  • So stupid, dimensional analysis is a waste of time, just use conversion factors

  • Over an hour in class and you nailed it in a few minutes. MY HERO! = )

  • Loved it! Plus you can dance

    and learn lol

  • This guy saved my life... now i can do conversions for chemistry xD

  • Omg thank you I needed help on my homework!

  • Kickass video

  • Why can't all the videos I have to watch be this awesome!!!!!! Great Vid! Awesome explanation and awesome songs!

  • It's cool this is how I see the Dimensional Analysis Process in my mind. It's Simple yet some make it so complicated.

Wish I could find some cubed examples online. I'm gonna post some vids on it once I finally solve it

  • Your math... SUCKS

  • I edited your video :)

  • awesome video and funny too, thanks!

  • THANKKKKKS SOOOO SOO MUCH !!!!

  • yes i want you as a teacher too!

  • I LOVE YOU!!! I GET IT NOW!!!

  • Can you become my teacher?!

  • You RULE!!!! I am totally showing this to my class!

  • Is 90 yen really 1 dollar?!

  • Out of all the video I have watched this is the best one and I learn something and was not more confused when I was done watching.

  • This is hillarious... Loved IT.. Thanks, you made it seem easy ;)

  • Whats the second song? i love it :P

  • would you do a video on how to solve 2step equations, like this one?? please please please. I understand once step conversions thanks to this video.

  • i think my teacher TRYS to make this seem harder then it has to be because i just learned how to do something he had been failing to teach us for the past week... this is a great and informative video.

  • Lol you make learning fun :D

  • how did he get the answer 730? I thought it was 7300? I dunno! Please reply!

  • @suiteangel45 100 times 7.3 is 730.

  • thank you so freakin much!

  • I learned something new about the conversion of the American dollar to the Chinese yen. $1 dollar = 90 Yen nice, I like this video it is educational and it has a catchy beat. If you take chemistry you have to do a lot of conversions and I use to have all of this memorize, but if you don't use it everyday you lose it just like algebra.

  • nice thanks. Why don't more teachers make learning fun? Too much material to cover?

  • dose m stand for molarity or moles?

  • Thanks so much! That really helps! :]

  • how would I convert 5.78 yards per second to miles per hour ]:

  • And one more thing, you are way better then my math teacher!! Thanks alot.

  • This video is so fun to watch. And it is so easy to understand! I know how to do it

now. Schwanbeckphysics, please keep on making math videos. You rock!!!

  • WOW. I had no idea how to do this! BUT I totally just learned it in less than 5 minutes! :DDDD

    THANKYOU!!!

  • thnk you yoda ........... i will return to finsh my training i promise

  • thx alot

  • you are an awesome teacher! THANK YOU

  • much easier now. thank you!

  • Learned more in three minutes than I have in 3 hours with the books.

  • You saved me. Thank you so much. Chemistry test, here I come!

  • U are a way better teacher than my physics teacher

    thx for this video

  • Ur so cool :D

  • where did u get the beats from and what r they called they r nice beats

  • killer background music

  • Helped SO much! Thanks!

  • Well done :D

  • does it matter what I put at the top of the parenthesis for example 100cm over 1 m. Could I also write it as 1cm over 100?

  • u are the boss !

  • i always thought conversions were confusing, this makes things so much easier, ..You should make videos like this for everything, like the next khan academy,,this makes learning so much funner

  • LAme music

  • Thanks for helping me teach this to my kids. Swear I did the EXACT same thing but it's so much more entertaining with a boss soundtrack... maybe I should make a soundtrack to my class. ANYWAYS, where did u get that BA beat in the second problem?

  • wish i could write that fast

  • you're a boss teacher, your students must be lucky

  • i love it how we spend and hour in class trying to understand this and in every subject i go home and look at youtube, they teach it to me within 2 min. its crazy

  • @MrKazi090 true

  • wow. more teachers should take lessons from you! you made this NONboring and easy to understand!

  • what if you had no reference to like how many yens are in a dollar, how would you convert

  • Finally I get it!!! My teacher is just so confusing........ THANKS!!!

  • Thank U!

  • Thank you so much.

  • You're awesome! Thanks!!!!

  • thanks wish u were my phyics teacher

  • wow, i learned in 4 minutes what i try hard in a week. thankyou schwanbeck!

  • so how do you convert inches/second to miles/hour.. ?

  • Thanks, you are a life saver :)

  • nice video it helps me a lot to build strong concepts on unit conversion

  • So Wonderfully HELPFUL, Thanks

  • Love the Japan part~!

  • thank you sooo MUCH! YOU Sir Just Saved My LIFE

  • If that's how the teacher and a background music in classroom, students won't be sleepy. :)

  • @markdave3 yeah I'd be dancing lmfao

  • thanks a bunch!

  • Wait.. How do you know when to put the '1' on the top or the bottom?

  • man you are the best why dont they have that in school ???????????????

  • AWESOME VID HELPED ME A LOT THANKS!11

  • u r GOD

  • this is too complex. i know easier way. just cross multiply

  • you are cool my friend and educational

  • @nikkiejay1999 The parentheses doesn't really matter it just makes it clear that your multiplying by another number. For example 5 times three is =15 which is the same as (5)3 or (5)(3). You can see that parentheses in my example just make it clear that multiplication is being used. I hope this helped.

  • Or you can just memorize that cm -> x10^-2 m.

  • This helped me so much!

  • This was soooo helpful! Your a great teacher! I have to retake my physics test today because I didnt understand how to convert units. Thank you so much for this video!

  • Dude, you don't know how helpful this was!!1! Now I can actually do my math homework!!!! Thanks a ton!!

  • This is how I teach unit multipliers too. Once you know this it's hard to understand why students don't get it. I love this musical version. Thank you. I have told them you put the one you want to keep on top, and that they are really just multiplying by something that equals one....

  • Dude Calling Japan is expensive! hope you used a calling card! Can you make more videos??

  • Dude Calling Japan is expensive! hope you used a calling card!

  • Who the farrrrk can't do this? Teach me how to convert ___g cm-3 to ___kg m-3.

  • omg why can't you be my physics teacher.

  • @nikkiejay1999 You just gotta know that there are 100 cm in 1 m. You can look it up in a book, Google it online, look on a meterstick, etc. What you put in the parentheses needs to have 1) the units you want on top and the units you want to get rid of on the bottom, and 2) what is equal on top equal to what is on the bottom. Most people don't have a ton of unit equalities memorized--it's OK to have to look them up.

  • Of course, there are some equalities that you will use so often you really should try to commit them to memory. One is that 100 cm = 1 m (and one hundred "centi" of any unit equals one of that unit). Another is that 1000 milli-anythings = 1 anything.

  • You are amazing man, I will pass my class because of you. Thanks

  • I really like this video. It's so entertaining and informative. It cemented what I learned in Chem class today. I'm telling my lab partners about it! Thanks for your effort in making this :)

  • Ok now I'm ready for class tonight...Thanks so much

  • Thank goodness i found you. I started my chemistry class yesterday and my professor gave me a packet of 80 something conversions to do. He didn't explain very well and I was overwhelmed and it was a very discouraging start to my semester. But now i think i'll be okay, thanks to you :)

  • seriously loved it! thank you! it helped me understand it sooooo much better.....especially now that Im takin chem 105 and i have no clue how im gonna do it...this totally made me feel better about my homework!

  • The easiest learning video i think that has ever been recorded on tape. Bill Nye's got nothin on this.

I'M TELLN MY WHOLE CHEM CLASS!

  • SO HELPFUL! thank you for people who ARE smart!

  • HI MRS. SCHMUTZER!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hey that's the same physics book i use how cool!!!

  • U ARE A FUCKING MATH GOD! THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!

  • @kurogane10 I AGREE!

even tho iv taken calc2 lol =P

  • @willthethrill521

Eehhhh we forget stuff from time to time, its like whatever were human.

  • where do I get a lsiting of all measuments. the net have calculators and I need the explanation of how to do it.

    thanks

  • Thanks , It's a reallyyy helpful video :D !!! ..

  • That was great. Funny and it helped me out a lot. Thank you.

  • @SuperMarioMoonshine It's because my friend in Japan is a money markets trader.

  • wow!

i really enjoyed it and understand it now ! thanks

  • tytyty

  • OMGGG THAAAAAAANKYOU.

    :)

Makes so much more sense. one question thoughh, do you need to multiply/divide by 1?

it's kind of like kinnikuchu's question.

What if you know that if the unit is bigger you divide and if the unit it smaller you multiply? can't you just follow that rule instead?

    eg. 18cm = x m

    18 / 100 = .18m.

cause I know m is bigger than centimeters so i divide. and 100 meters is 1 cm.

    instead of doing 18/ (100/1) = .18m

    answerr pleasee. :)

  • That was really helpful!

One question though, how would I convert 5m/s to km/h?

  • Haha... funny video. The world needs more instructors like you. Marvelous.

  • need more videos from you lol

  • not bad lol thanks!!!!!!!!!

  • Dimensional analysis is better than proportions when you need multiple conversion factors and a good skill to be used elsewhere.

  • this guy is funny.

  • Thank you so much

  • Thank you so much! I am not able to do my homework!!!! Finally, I go to school and can't learn anything... you just helped me understand conversions in 4 minutes then my teacher could which takes at least 2 days for me to understand what he is even talking about. You ARE the best, wish I had you as a teacher.

  • great video(:

  • Great video. My only criticism is that you're trying to essentially do all of these problems in one easy step. Not all students are going to know for example that 1Kg = 2.2lbs nor will they be given this info for a test. Instead, it is much more common for them to know that 1lbs = 454g and that 1000g = 1Kg. So, I think converting from lbs to grams to kilograms is an easier way for students because they don't have to look up anything as they should already be familiar with these relationships.

  • thank you sooooo much!!!! this really helps!!!!!

  • thanks for this

  • Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou~ ^-^

Our teacher wants us to show our work by using this technique...so I couldn't just right out the KHDBDCM and do it the easy way. ._.

    Keep making videos~

    You're entertaining. :D

  • outstanding

  • dude u serusly rock...thanks aloooooooooooooooooooooooot u made it so easy

  • you're more helpful than my bio professor. thanks so much!

  • OMG. Thank you soooooooo much!!

  • OMG. Thank you soooooooo much!!

  • Why don't you just multiply the unit by the value.

It is really necessary to do that "fraction style" ?

    :P

  • @kinnikuchu If you just multiply the unit by the value, you would run into trouble approximately half of the time. In the second example, we are converting from pounds to kilograms, and the conversion relationship that we know is that 2.2 lbs = 1 kg. Therefore we need to DIVIDE by 2.2, not multiply by 2.2. Any time that the conversion relationship you know is of the form "X unit you start with = 1 unit you want" you will need to divide. Doing it "fraction style" helps you keep this in order.

  • @schwanbeckphysics Alright, I see

Thanks for the explanation and for the video ;)

  • @schwanbeckphysics

    Just multiply by 1

If numerator = denominator you have 1

  • Multiply by 1.

    2.2 lb/1kg = 1

    1kg/2.2 lb = 1

...If you multiply by 1, you don't change the amount, and units cross cancel.

  • @schwanbeckphysics

    if a = b then a/a = 1

    a/b = 1

    b/a = 1

    n x a/b = n x b/a = n

if n is in units a mult by b/a so a units cancel

if n is in units b mult by a/b so b units cancel

  • thanks

  • thank you very much

  • Thx ForThe tutorial Subscriibed!!

  • THANK YOU!!!

  • Good job, more videos!

  • this helped me alot

  • thank you it was very clear :)

  • BUT i have canverted 0.6m to km in your way it came wrong?

    plz help..

i am having a test for it

  • really nice

but plz how i can convert dm to km??

  • yep I'm subsribing............no questions asked.

  • MORE VIDS, DUDE! you are the coolest and most easiest ONline tutor to understand. I go this conversion thing quickly. Thanks!
