  • Can't wait to get out of this hell hole and move to Thailand!! I Love having Thai citizenship and being from the nicest part of Thailand... "The North".

    :)

  • @SwillyNation1991

Too bad if chiang mai were in another 700 km up north it can have a lovely weather.

    Like Hanoi.

Summer in Chiang Mai can be one of the most intense and hottest in Thailand.

Lampang beat it i think in 2001 reached maximum of 50 degrees celsius

  • Nice video but you forget the KANTOKE PALACE SHOW. IT' S WONDERFUL

  • why on earth would u travel thousands of miles around the world just to experience the comforts of home???? ridiculous

  • @grehan19

    Try Cost!!

  • 3:17 omg i went there with my mum 5 yrs ago

  • Why in the world would you move around the world and try to make it just like the United States? I feel sorry for anyone who moves and insulates themselves like it look like these people do. Sad.

  • This is just amazing! How to move to Thailand from the USA and not experience anything of Thai culture. Come on, come here convert all these heathens to Christianity,it doesn't matter their religion is older than yours and they are very comfortable with it!. You can stay insulated from any experience of Thailand while you are here!

  • Hahaha, there is a Sizzler in Chiang Mai. I hope it closed by now...

  • This is obviously an info-mercial for Grace International School in Chiang Mai, to assure potential teachers or families that things are "just like back home". When I started to read about Chiang mai I was really turned off by this video because I am more interested in experiencing things more Thai than American. However, I understand that there are many people out there who are only interested in having the comforts of home while living in a foreign country. Hopefully one can have either.

  • I come from CHiang Mai !! ^___^ I love my hometown

  • who the doggy hell that dislikes this? i mean dislikes chiang mai

  • who the doggy hell that dislikes this?

  • How sad, you missed you Thailand and the Thai way of life. Clearly you want America wherever you are, my suggestion, you stay in America.

  • sawadee kap, I loved Thailand and Chiang Mai, the part in Thailand of my holiday was amazing, have seen a beautiful way of being, love the way of the buddha, although I don't believe in a "god". It is a very special country and Chiang Mai is so great, try to adapt to the Thai way of being and all will work out fine and do the sonkran festival, because you have to do that at least 1 time in your life, it's AMAZING!!! had a great month

  • Why would I want to spend thousands of dollars to travel to a country on the other side of the world...and then go to the mall or KFC, Starbucks or Pizza Hat ? ? ? I have those thing just down the street from my home in Canada. I can walk there.

  • @Catoni52 - If all you want to get out of life is experiencing KFC and Pizza Hut, you're really missing the point of life, now aren't you? My bad. How can I expect you to understand. Those who don't know, don't know they don't know. Enjoy your myopic way of thinking and living. As you were.

  • @Catoni52 true but it's nice to have a taste of home when your far away from it

  • STOP WESTERIZING CHIANG MAI!!!

  • @ThaiBox7788 But who are you talking to, ThaiBox7788? To Thai people, or to some imaginary farangs possessed of magical powers? After all, if there is one source for the "Westernization" you dread, it's the dread TV set, and a lot of Thai are glued to it. The people driving Mercedes-Benzes are Thai. Tourists come & go and have very little impact.

Besides, Thailand is not nearly as "Westernized" as you imagine. It's a Buddhist nation, and learning Thai is a practical necessity.

  • fukkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk mc donald........go thailand.....

    fuk pizza hut too......

  • Most Americans are so afraid of other countries they would never consider living somewhere else. I have been to Thailand twice and I would live there in a minute! When I tell people I go to Thailand or any other Asian country alone they all ask is it safe? I guess this promo video is to try to reassure dumb Westerners that it's safe and you can get a Big Mac and go to the mall just like back home! Anyone that has been there would never eat at those places! Local food is 100 times better!

  • @pooltables2u Hi, just a comment from someone living in Chiang Mai. After perhaps 2-3 years of loving Thai food, older habits come back and you start wanting some variety. That's when you discover that places like Pizza Hut are typically completely filled with Thai people who want a change too! The other thing that happens to nearly everyone is the day comes when you want a burger (or an enchilada) more than anything.

The variety of restaurants in Chiang Mai is a strength, not a weakness. :)

  • @pooltables2u 100% correct!!

  • Oh no ! ! I've been thinking of going to Thailand and Chiang Mai because it would be exotic and so much different than the U.S. and Canadian North American cities. Now I find KFC and Starbucks and a city much like one in Canada or the U.S. I think I'll save my money instead of going to a place that has lost its character to become so westernised. What a shame.

  • @Catoni52 So you make up your mind without even visiting the place?!?!

    Oh well, up to you.

  • GOD! I do miss Chiang Mai! :(, i was born there, now living in crapy UK (Derby) :(

  • fucking mcshit and kfc everywhere

  • @marqizaa USA is running out of fat ppl to convert to.

  • @rotcataergeht no usa is not running out of fat ppl trust me on that one

  • A little too much like America(or Europe) for me. I'd want a tad more local flavor.

  • good video

  • Air-conditioning only at night? Only if you don't mind a temperature all year in the 80's with high humidity during the day, sitting in front of an electric fan and taking three or four showers a day. Without air-con, the only place I can stay cool is in the mall or in the swimming pool.

  • great and informative video! i would move there in a second.

  • @thecooler68 Why????
