@stardustie There's a lot of controversy over this in general. Just about every jump with a good amount of elevation looks like this in slow mo. I trying to think though, if it did double touch, how much would the trajectory change by?
Also, maybe we're getting the wrong angle? If it wasn't perfectly perpendicular, there is chance they're just overlapping in the camera frame.
@ProdigyKimXP yes i know the angle isn't just right but it's clear because the jump isn't makeable. and the why is simple. you might get enough elevation with the cueball but if ur straight up with your cue the cueball isn't going to travel forward that much without a double touch and there's a simple thing called followtrough on a jumpshot stroke. you have to followtrough your point ur stroking in to.. and if the point is in the are the cueball is standing on, it isn't possible for it to bounce
@ProdigyKimXP off the surface of the table without touching it cause it's not going forward(1mm) at the starting point, so its going upward, but how is that possible if u did a followtrough stroke in the same position the cueball is leaving from? no it's not possible. after the double touch it gets forward motion high up in the air.
@ProdigyKimXP to add on this there's same kinda angles that you can stroke without a foul like with a touchingball. you CANNOT push straight to the objectball can you? it's really the samething.
i agree with topless1967stang becuase if you pause at 0:26 you can see there is no pattern at the and then pause at 0:31 you can see there is a pattern so as topless1967stang said he said he did the switcheroo and he did

he's using a very rounded tip, maybe almost an intentional miscue. Also, look at the second to last jump. You can see he is only using a shaft, not a whole cue. Then on the last jump he does a switch-a-roo and shows a full size cue.
yeah, I have made the one mm jump many times and no, you do not need any kind of special cue. Having a good jump cue just helps a lot. I have used just the shaft of playing cues and they do the trick just fine. ok, to do the 1mm jump you need to make sure that there is no chalk on the tip. I know Eric had chalk on the tip so I don't know how he did it. Anyway, you need to hit vertically and about 1 1/2 tip distance south of the center. Hit it as hard as you can, and hopefully it makes it!!
Man thats pure skill, I find the 1 cm jumps difficult, BUT 1MM! THATS TOO MUCH!!!! Its good to see it in slow motion, really helps to see the method. AMAZING. Have a look at my mass'e videos if you got a moment, Iv'e got the skill, but I need to get a new table :(
it is amazing, he also uses this vid on the forum i believe to say that the 1 mm jump is illegal, knowing how if you watch it in slow mo which you do you see it comes off of the the shaft, so its like a double hit
No, my friend, it does not touches the shaft, you would hear it and it will deflect the ball, what tricks you is the perspective, if you look just at the ball you'll see a clean parabolic path with no deflection whatsoever.
u can check the forum if u want, 21ace . com, no spaces, look under your pool videos and other videos, look on the second page, should say "one mm jumps are NOT legal im convinced"
lol like i said, go ahead and believe what u want XD i can kinda see what u mean and what i mean, so im not sure, and personally, i dont even care now realizing i cant do these anyway lol
ok u must be an idiot, look at 0:03, as u can see, the cue ball jump straight up, and his shaft moves forward, therefore causing the cueball to be pushed over the ball
Probably you'r right...my idiotometer is broken, therefore I'm not sure if my levels of idiotine (the toxine causing the phenomenon) are under control...what I'm sure is that the count decreases with age :P
Anymay if you look at the last shots it seems that the shaft is going straight to the cloth, therefor not pushing the cueball in any way...anyway I'm not sure, I've never tried it, and probably never will, I play billiards, those shots are not of any use for me.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! Big Words in comments. CONFUSED.

great accuracy ha ha ha i don't think i care about a shot you could never pull off in a game situation

u can clearly see that there's a double touch on 0:06 - 0:07

course u can believe what u want lol

The only way to get thru this is a high speed camera and filming from a different angle.
I want to believe the truth...there is a lot of people that believes that 1mm whip shots are illegal as well. ;D
