There is some 'blurred' definituions of stop motion... but all of them involve the use of "still captures" to create the "illusion of animation". Never is is 'any' form of capture of an already 'animated' subject.

This, is NOT stop motion. It is frame limiting (perhaps time lapse).

Really what you are doing is just a series of stills. Maybe you could call it time lapse... but it's not stop motion. Obviously, you can call it whatever you want, since all of these terms are poorly defined, but I do think that saying that what you do is stop motion, is misleading.
