i wish i could live in 1952 so i could watch great movies like singing in the rain, high noon , ivanhoe, the greatest show ever, and the snows of kiilimanjarao.
Best ending credits ever and they are even better with Gene Kelly's actual recording there which after the film we've witnessed has made this classic joyful tune horrifying and weird
Kubrick is seriously a master of his passion. The feeling invoked in us watching these credits and listening to the authentic version of "Singing in the Rain" is what Alex goes through in the Ludovico Technique. The feeling associated with "Singing In the Rain" has changed in us because of Alex's violent actions as he sings.
I know that the choice of song was spontaneous by McDowell during the rape scene, but you couldn't find a more fitting song to reflect a person who thrives on causing suffering and lives to manipulate others than singin' in the rain. While those around him are in anguish and torment, he's singin' and dancin'.
All throughout this movie i kept saying i cant believe this movie isnt even half over yet, especially when alex is just getting to prison and so much has happened so quicly. Then once hes released i kept having to make sure the movie wasn't about to end with him dying. Great movie, it feels like an absolutely complete work.
I stood up too quick the first time i watched this movie and the credits began. I got all dizzy and fainted. It was almost orgasmic xD Yeah, i felt so alive...
Surprisingly, the ending gives puts me in such a feel-good mood. I know that the ending to "A Clockwork Orange" probably shouldn't, but this song just makes me so darn happy! XD
I think the bright colours in the opening and ending credits give this film a very special and somewhat ominous feel. There are just too many films that go with the black-background-white-text thing.
Amazing, according to IMDB this film had a budget of 2 million USD. And the only set Kubrick built was the Korova milkbar. I can only imagine how much money Kubrick and Burgess made from this from the theaters, DVD/ VHS sales, and general publicity. Although I do feel kind of bad for Burgess, he said a Clockwork Orange was one of his least favorite books and the film made it overshadow many of his other works which he said he was more proud of.
This is just the perfectly creepy way to end one of the most disturbing movies ever made. It's genius. I'll never be able to hear this song again (probably one of the happiest songs ever made) without eerie, sinister connotations.
I wanna thank the cunt who removed all the English versions of the ending from youtube.

Is it odd that I was a bit freaked out by the ending, but when I heard this, I started dancing? XD

Oh well, I'm sure he was happy with its success.
