I was listening to a recent interview with Daron yesterday. He said he's a huge fan of Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard. Maybe that's where the country influence came from? I'll agree Serj's Lyrics are better in my opinion too and also his voice is slightly better only for the fact that he's more innovative using it and the tones he picks for songs and carries around the songs. Wrong, dude. Daron wrote most of the MUSIC, whereas Serj wrote most of the LYRICS. Look up each album on Wikipedia...it lists who wrote the lyrics and music for each song. On the first CD, for example, Serj wrote all the lyrics for almost every single song. On later albums, Daron wrote more of the lyrics, especially on Mezmerize/Hypnotize but still, Serj was always the chief lyric writer for SOAD. You can clearly tell the difference between which songs' lyrics were written by Serj or Daron.

For instance, it is easy to tell that Lonely Day was written by Daron, and Vicinity of Obscenity was written by Serj. They have completely different styles. Serj is much more weird, deep, and artsy, whereas Daron is more straight up rock.
