Interesting how you have Hal saying I'm sorry before he murders the crew. Overall the edit is fascinating and works on a number of levels - it shows what the film is like without the slow moving space scenes and extra banter. Of course the slow moving pace is deliberate to show the tedium and mind numbing slowness of space life. Overall the edit is good to watch, but I of course as a superfan of the movie prefer the mind numbing slowness of the original as the exhilarating ride lasts longer.

This is one of my favorite movies, I watch it a few times a year. This movie is a masterpiece as a whole, and you're right, a lot of people can't get into it because it can be extremely slow moving at times. I find that it is for true movie lovers, however, the clips I've watched that you have edited down, though i prefer the real thing, I must admit, you did a damn fine job. I'm sure you agree with me that this is the Diet Coke to the Coke that's this movie, but still, bravo on the re-edit
