This song alway makes me want to cry, not only because of your brother and the pain you went through, but also, it reminds me of my dad. He took his own life about 13 years ago, when I was just a litte kid and I've been having dreams about him ever since. I guess that's why you're my favourite artist, you make music from your soul
oh, full stars, great, the first time I saw in youtube! and that with 65 votes, great, greaaaat, I want to destroy it perfectness, DESTROY. Joke, man :)
Love this song, sorry about the pain you went through Ed to get inspired for it. I was just kicked out of a park by a cop and this song was playing interesting. Out of 2300 songs this is the one the ipod was playing coincidence?
thank you SO much for posting these, Ed. I was at the edmonton show and I cried when you played Brian Wilson! This song is amazing too and like most people I thought it was about a breakup but now that you've explained it it makes more sense! Thank you for everything!
Never really liked this song... until now. I always figured Am I The Only One was about the unfortunate accident. That one has always brought me to the verge of tears.

Ed. You are amazing. I couldn't think how this would sound the same as on the cd, with just one guitar. It's nice to know the meaning and feel your feelings through the lyrics. Your soul shines.
Wow... thanks for sharing something so deeply personal. I had always had a similar "guess" at the meaning of the song, and overall liked it's general sound, etc... but I guess I had assumed it more of a "breakup" song. Thanks again for sharing another great "new" version of your music!
I frequently skipped over this song for years due to not understanding it. Then you explained it at the Hartford Peep Show back in '03. For me, this song shows how you are so personally passionate while explaining something like the grieving process for us all. In a way, your writing compliments the connection between artist and audience that occurs durring BNL's live shows. Well done once again.

Love it man. The album version of this song reminds me of a Phish song: especially the last 50 seconds. Great stuff!

Your song so reminds me of 'My Immortal'. They have the same meaning, but I can tell that yours has so much emotion because it's real.
Take it easy, Ed. Your fans are here for you :)

The concept of this makes me think of the show Rescue Me, with Denis Leary seeing the ghost of his cousin all the time.

A song recorded in the bathroom? That'll make you a "fixture" on the music scene! Thanks, Ed...that was fun. - Josh G.
