  • how the fuck do you launch 48 apps at once?

  • wow that is a full 3 minutes

  • Macs are much better computers both in build quality and support... PLUs it can always run windows flawlessly using BootCamp so crawl back in your holes you Apple haters, I'm not a fanboy, I just state the trueth and that is a Macbook Pro build is more reliable than the above average priced laptop build. Case closed.

  • @lambergino just shut up

  • @lambergino Just shut up

  • I just installed an Intel SSD on my MBP yesterday which is the same one as this one. And now when I boot it up I dont even get the spinning circle anymore. It's ridicilous

  • @KoRnKnoTTeR the word is "ridiculous"

  • "For the last 10 or 20 years, computers manufacturers have been fooling us into thinking their computers were getting faster and faster." After I purchased a new 2011 March edition MPB with thunderbolt etc I have to agree !!! I thot it would humm along while processing photos in Lightroom and PS. Sadly it is the HDD that is slowing me down. Good test by the way. Big difference. I often push my MBP and this convinces me to go with the SSD.

  • Have you experienced noticeably worse battery life after putting an extra HDD in the MBP? :)

  • hahaha wow

  • Comparing to a 5400 is unfair. But I guess that Macs can't handle 7200 since Macs are like uber overpriced.

  • @Jorgen297 because the difference between a 5400 and 7200 is sooo big....not!

have you ever used a mac?

  • @yeransr I have and will never use a Mac. Such overpriced faggotry should be left alone.

  • I could use some coffee....

For the last 10 or 20 years, computers manufacturers have been fooling us into thinking their computers were getting faster and faster....I always thought it was bullshit.....but now I see what happened - The stupid HDDs were holding them back!

  • @WildMaverick1200 Yep, hdd's are the bottlenecks of PC

  • @SkFb but when accessing the data or applications? from the ssd?? does it lose some bytes of space or only that happens when is overwritten??

  • @WildMaverick1200 so true. i hope ssds get affordable soon.

  • @mavishill this probably won't happen. 5 years minimum

  • Time = Money!

  • Holy FUCK! I'm sold....

  • you gotta do a 2011 version!

  • Thank god im usually just use 3 or 4 (gui) apps simultaneously. hdd still ok for me :p

  • Have fun Closing these apps =D

  • @AnasHabibMusic

Option + Command + W close them all at once ;)

  • @SkFb =)

  • @SkFb that only closes the window not the app.

  • @Reb10101 Just log out and log back in, job done

  • @amolsd oh i know i just wanted to say he was wrong :D

  • @SkFb BTW it only closes the windows and doesn't quit the application...

  • Time is money, you know.

  • @VolvoEP i must be rich then,, or poor?!?!?1

  • They aren't cloned systems. Look a the number of icons on each machine and only the SSD one has the dock up the side. While these are small differences, they are still differences and there could be others too. Just saying...

  • @darrylsell

They are, the icones you see is just print screen of the first test...

  • so then which is better SSD or HDD?

  • @327bran SSD's are fast, but expensive and low capacity. It's up to you.

  • @327bran SSD is much better, for almost everything but space quantity, I'd say use SSD for your operating system and a fast hard drive for storage of media

  • @327bran SSD is much better, for almost everything but space quantity, I'd say use SSD for your operating system and a fast hard drive for storage of media.

  • @giorbakis22

Goes up to 100° without any probleme

He is reading two 720p at once and recorded it in 1920x1200, so it is not hot )

  • @SkFb should not be more than 70 (much lower lifetime) mine goes max 50°C with prime95 @ 4.2Ghz (6 cores)

  • @point6000x

Please before to say something totaly false and without any relation tpo apple macbook pro, have a read to Intel core i5 spec, you should read 110° max at burned, and please don't compare a MBP and your machine, they are completly.

First buy an MBP same as this one and you could talk about thing you know, cause you don't :)

  • @SkFb still its not good for a CPU to have such high temperatures.

I own MBP + this machine but my mum uses MBP cause MBP has no 8GB DDR3 1333Mhz ram, is too slow, why buy OS X when only using windows, no compatibility to most games I usualy play, 2 HD6970 dont fit @ all in a MBP :D

  • ХОЧУ!

  • Hmm I really like what I see in this video. I have a macbook pro 15 inch late 2008 and I am thinking of upgrading to a SSD. I have a 320GB HDD at 7200rpm but I am looking for higher performance. Do you think you assist me with that?

  • HDD got owned. SSD is random access so it would obviosly win in a test like this. but it would be interesting to see how it went in a video recording test or a 3Dmark 06 test up agianst the HDD. (but unless it was a 15000RPM HDD in raid 0 I would bet that the SSD would win, but it would be interesting to see by how much)

  • How does the SSD affect battery life??

  • @PancakePlease

I haven't seen noticable effects, i keep it running more than 5 hours average, sometimes 4h, sometimes 6++ despite the fact i've add the hitachi disk in the place of the superdrive and so do have two hard drive.

  • @SkFb On my MBP 13" I've seen 10+ hours. Never gets close to to that with my old stock 5400rpm.

Check out the boot time of my MBP on my page.

  • @PancakePlease SSDs actually are more power efficient than HDDs because they have no moving parts..

  • @PancakePlease umm.. it doesn't

  • hey please reply, ive heard the macbook pro gets real hot a lot, does it still get real hot with ssd?

  • Planning on putting a SSD in my PC (Not a 500 GB or something, but around 124 GB.. because I'll put my other stuff on my current HDD 640GB)

  • where can i get an ssd

  • @arx320skater PC store or online.

  • Wow!

    This is amazing.

The one big question I have though is HDD vs. SSD reliability. Have SSDs really proven to be as reliable as a HDD? (data loss, etc.)

  • @cybersalad : More reliable, there is no mechanic matters so no wears.

  • @SkFb In theory this is true--but the one thing I do worry about SSDs is they haven't really been around long enough to measure reliability vs. HDDs. But I haven't really read about many problems. I've been considering a SSD in my next machine. I'll probably take the leap.

  • @SkFb Yes but also if your harddrive crashes you cant recover anything from what ive herd. But its a mac, 1/100 probabilty chance unless your tring to OC your computer with all air vents closed

  • @herefortheheckofit This is why you should always make backups. Hard drives are just as likely (if not more) to crash. Sure it may be recoverable if you have a few thousand dollars to send it to a professional recovery company (if we're talking about an actual head crash) but for all practical purposes it very likely won't be recoverable. The bottom line is - hard drives crash, make backups!

  • hello; in your response to @FichDak Hi, did you mean vertex 2 was faster or this regular vertex is faster?

  • Impressive!

  • Hey, which OCZ Vertex is it specifically? Thanks

  • @FichDak Hi,

This is an OCZ Vertex 64GB, with an indylix controler, not the new Vertex 2 with a sandforce controler who seems to be better. According to me and to many benchmarks and SSD's test, it is one of the best in the market, just behind IBM's (but much cheaper). I bought it 170 euro at materiel net

  • Hi,

This One is faster than Apple one. Only Intel and SSD with indilix controler are fair enough actually.

Disk replacement is really easy, just 10 screws on the ack side, un-plug and plug the disk .

  • I'm getting ready to buy a new macbook pro next week with the ssd option. Is this ssd you have faster than the one that I would get from apple, or do you know? I'm not techie enough to order my own ssd and install it myself. Thanks.

  • @pscn2001 Hi,

This one is more efficient and fast than the Apple's one. Many benchmark temd to prove it, check google with "Apple SSD benchmarking"

  • @SkFb

hey i got myself the new macbook pro 15'' 2011 with a core i7 quad core processor and 128GB of RAM and i just did a reboot and it took me 20 seconds exactly and your boot up test was 17 seconds and shut down about 1.5 so yes it is a little quicker but i don't think it's that much of a difference (yes i did get it with apple's SSD but i am going to put a data doubler in there with a 750 GB HDD and yes apple's SSD is expensive). nice video anyways ;)

  • @rtownz251251

    Hi,

In fact i boot once every two or three months, i never shut down my MBP, neither my iMac, and have furious uptime (4 months for my MBP, obliged to reboot for update) so more or less few seconds ... :)

  • @SkFb

lol why are you doing that to your macbook pro? for the iMac it's ok since it doesn't have a battery inside of it but it 's really bad for the macbook pro to keep it on for that long because if you do you probably will keep it on charging and that way your battery gets ''lazy'' and it really drains the performance of your macbook pro. if you keep it on without charging it's ok but that will drain your battery allot for the next day. just saying ;)

  • @rtownz251251

because i need it, it is my job tool. And never never pull out a battery from your laptop, never. First, it will slow down your CPU to 1000MHz instead of the native frequency, and in case of overshock it will burn your motherboard.

It is made to be used, and it is more harmfull to have power on/off many times a day than to leave it suspended ;)

  • @SkFb

i wasn't telling you to take out the battery but just to not keep on charging while it's full already! and still i don't think that you have to have it on at night even though it's your job tool ;)

  • @rtownz251251

oups, i've read too fast, your right it is much better to not be on charge every time :)

  • @SkFb

    no problem ;).

  • @rtownz251251 128gb of ram? fucking retard

  • @NovemVmbrae666 SDD i'm sorry....

  • @pscn2001 Don't get the vertex, get the Crucial c300, it's got a way faster read speed and better warranty

  • @Bogie3Flare C300 is more expensive and is only worth buying if your computer supports SATA 6G. Otherwise it will be limited by the host interface and you should just buy a SATA 3G drive like the OCZ Vertex 2.

  • @pscn2001 Just about any SSD out there these days are gonna be lightning fast (:

  • Question why did you pull out THE supperdrive?

BDW, i'm jealous on your ssd

  • @Ulf1103

    Hi,

because i add the Original 500GB Drive for Data and Home, 64GB of the SSD are not enough

  • it's awesome, thanks for your video! hoping ssd's price gose down as soon as possible

  • @b4uloveme515

Your right, price is the dark side of the force ;)

171€ for this 64Go OCZ Vertex, but he owns it. About 1400 $ for a 512 Go, oOooopss ...

    Thx for your comment.
