  • This video was made on May 20 2007 this was made when Skrillex was Sonny Moore wtf o_O

  • Speedcore dnb?

  • I don't think skrillex does this...

  • This has nothing to do with Skrillex. But great job in renaming the video after it's been on for years with a different title, just so you will attract more viewers :|

  • @spaaske I just scrolled through the list of my favorites and was a bit confused, too. :D

    "Skrillex? 2007?"

  • thx

  • Abelton for the win

  • @Conkern65 i use both.

  • next video s supposed 2 b "how to take a piss in a complicated way"

  • tricky

  • The groove that you use as sample is very cool, but i can't find it. It is a reason groove, or other?

  • @YYYValentine because I think its ether a reason refill or another sample in wav format. But becarful, Reason 3 4 or 5 DO NOT allow 3rd party insturments (Fl Studio Cubase, Synthsiess. NEVER THE LESS, This is a great beat he has created. :)

  • The key is to use a full loop, in ONE FILE, and not a chopped one. Using a Dr. Rex Loop won't work since it's chopped up in a bunch of slices and Sample Start will only affect one of them.

If do you have a full break in ONE FILE on your computer, choose the browse sample button (not the browse patch button) and select it. Also, you don't need a fader as you can just automate Sample Start manually.

  • maybe it is because my sample is a regular rex loop???

  • ***** all I get is the initial hit and nothing. it is not a constant sound just the hit for a second

  • Pandadnb: hey thank you for the vdeo, when i go into the edit page and draw the events., i dont get a sound. i am on reason 4. it is right after you quantize on 1/64 and draw the line. my sample is loaded but no sound. ive used reason since it first came out and never figured this out. please help this has been bugging me!! thanks again i need to subscribe your vids are very helpful. please respond though

    cheers~

  • Works great on vocals as well!!

  • awesome s

  • Reason is a very good piece of kit. U can do things in it which is impossible in other programs. I have reason, fruity and cubase. They are as good as each other, one dies one thing, the other dies the other. The secret is to rewire them all together. In reason, for me is the redrum and the graintable synth, very impressive. Some people say fruityloops is crap, trust me it is not, just very easy to use and sounds sync them self so easy in it. Hope this helps

  • I wanna the shortcuts he uses O:

  • Very interesting, that will definitely come in handy.

  • Reason.. kind of to complex for me.. Fruity Loops - much simpler, and still very efective.

  • @Slipkn0tt yes, simpler, but it is very difficult to move forward with fruity loops, you will get use to the interface and then you will have hardware in your hand and you will have no clue what to do

  • @Slipkn0tt fruity loops it is just a module called REDRUM on REASON,...more capabilities and versatility for me, from REASON, obviously

  • WOW! WTF?! you're doing it the hard way!

  • are you dutch?

  • @Paralyzed15 Hahaha, he is. Hahahaa

  • if you press f5 the advert skips

  • @OnCall101Villa If you get Adblock the advert skips too.

  • where is a link for this programm oO

    i want this programm because

  • @TheHMNice This program looks like its good, but you can download a demo version of FL studio 9, i recommend that. i use the demo version and im still able to record and have access to some things people without the demo version cant use.

  • why wont this work for me??!?!

  • now I finally know how they do it... and you sound so dutch :-)

  • thanks! good.

  • No, get a real granular synthesis sampler for this, like Camel Audio's Achemy

  • nederlands :P

  • Hey, bedankt voor dit filmpje! Heeft me aardig geholpen.

  • I fucking love this guys accent

  • @Partyywizard He's Dutch. (not german)

  • where can I download good samples?

  • Reason is freakin' awesome but if you want to take your time with drills/timestretching/chopping , use Acid Pro. You can look at the soundwaves REEEEEAAAALLL close

  • absolutely useless unless you dont know anything at all

  • @freddurst1999 If you don't know anything at all, then don't try to make IDM/glitch music. It's that simple.

  • no no no

  • what is the name is that software

  • @amantesexual03 Propellerhead's Reason.

  • @amantesexual03 Reason 3

  • @Lavidicus6 thank you....

  • this guys accent is rad

  • try d-blue glitch vst

  • when i create an nn-19 auto loading a farfisa sample.

  • great!!! clever tips

  • XD transcript subs are too funny to use lol

  • Wow, this is a realllly poor way to stretch :/

  • @Qwaarf Actually editing a waveform is really hard, but it feels so much more fullfilling

  • or just get FL's granulizer to do it.

  • nice trick

  • Neat.

Looks liek you could use an extra monitor

  • SUGEE!!

  • how did you get your drum loops to .wav files?

  • wow, this is the first time I've seen the NN19 used to do anything!!

  • im using rsn 4 when I turn up the sample start it just seems to kill the sample. hmm

  • lol overduidelijk nederlands accent.

  • Cool effects, brah.

I'll suck your dick for five dollars.

  • I'll suck his dick for $2.50, Breh.

  • @nelsono415

I am willing to pay out of my own pocket to have that man's penis in my mouth.

  • But you don't understand how bad i want his hot penis in and around my mouth

  • @nelsono415

Maybe we could share, and he's cum on both our faces at the end.

  • Nothing like the Aphex warp

  • why do you want to make such a nasty noise like that tho ?

  • theres an exlent youtube vidio on how to get ableton free

  • whats the key function to fill in the sequencer so quickly?

    thanks in advance

  • @SaltyJK

    ctrl c and ctrl-v!

  • @djcarmine thanks

    \

  • haahah!

  • @SaltyJK

It's just copy paste. When you paste, the "Current Time Indicator" jumps to the end of what you pasted, so just hold down CRTL-V and it'll fill up ahead!

  • It sounds fine (it is what it is), but I mean, aphex's drum taps are all individually programed, slow the songs down and listen. This produces sounds that aren't even similar.

  • dude, dat is a really intelligent way of abusing this function :o)

    nice one!

  • I need software again....Im all into making electronic music but I got a new computer and I dont wanna fuck it up downloading stuff. Guess Im gonna have to do it. Anyone use Fl by the way?

  • LOL do a simple echo... that looked SIMPLE?!?!?!

  • Favd I'll use this. I don't have reason but I guess that's not a problem I can do it in any other program too.

  • One way to do it for sure :P

  • what i do is load my vocals into nnxt and creat a rp8 and press the keyboard and you have a great stutter effect

  • Touch me

  • omfg panda ur my hero LOL

  • what are some programs that are like this that are way more cheap and possibly free?

  • You can get Reason 3 for free.

THE thing is you'd have to be a PIRATE to do that and still keep the authorities at BAY.

But obviously, I'm not going to tell you how to do illegal things in a public place such as a comment on a Youtube video.

  • Haha yeah I know that. I just wanted to know if there was an easier way. I'm not in to pirating that much.

  • @frontinondebra

    Illegal?

    google->reason 3 free dl

    That's not a big deal :D

  • @frontinondebra haha what ' im ' trying to say is go torrent reason 4 man

  • @frontinondebra Very subtle...

  • @frontinondebra funny thing is you see Kids on youtube promoting pirated copies on youtube all the time like Nexus Fl studio and so on lol ... Youtube Doesn't allow illegal stuff on this site yet youtube allows it ?

  • @frontinondebra

    TORRENTS

    TPB

    figure it out

  • @frontinondebra amen

  • @frontinondebra lmao well put...

  • @frontinondebra So I think I understand THE message are you trying to say. That if I I walk down a plank like a bad PIRATE, I might fall down into the BAY? But what if it's near silicon valley? You know, where the .COM bubble happened? Sorry if I am lost. I am in a spiritual SEARCH FOR REASON. btw, can I DOWNLOAD your vids? I bought reason but I don't know how to INSTALL IT. If I could, you would be up for WIN of the year award.

  • @ReverendNovember Joke piggy-back fail. Do you really not know how to install it or are you making a joke?

Message me and I'll walk you through it if you're serious. Anybody else who see's this is welcome to as well and I'll try and help.

  • @frontinondebra

Saw what u did thur hihi

  • @frontinondebra reasons only like 40£ or something so who ever pirates it a cheap skate..

  • @uralumkinman only £40?! It's like £400 matey!

  • @uralumkinman what are you talking about kind sir?

  • @frontinondebra just go to Phaze DDL, you can get Reason 5. Big deal.

  • Goeie tutorials man, Erg leerzaam!

    Ga zo door;)

  • can i have that drum looop pleease?!

  • again download torrents

    google the following;

    dubstep producer pack torrent

    or

    dnb pack wav torrent

    or

    hip hop wav torrent

they will provide loops and drum hits to create your own loops...I use limewire as a vehicle for torrent downloading, not to use it's self. hope that help.....I have these files, I just don't know how to give them to you, if you know how.. tell me!

  • lol i wanted jus tht one loop but thanks for helping.. btw that software, how the hell do you use it? i dont get why i need that midi device, i have bomes as well, but how do i connect bomes to reason?

  • see, i did the retard thing and paid for sample packs. no premade loops obviously. i didnt think about torrenting. cheers mate

  • i've wondered how they do that ever since i first heard the come to daddy ep 12 years ago.. fuck. that's easy!

  • whats the name of this prog?

  • Propellerhead Reason 3, but there is a 4 now :PppPpppp

  • can i make it so i use one of the buttons on my keyboard if i dont hav a midi keyboard? please help arghh

  • I recommend U download Loopsbe1 (which is a midi router{so Reason will recognize the following software I'm about to tell you}) and download Bome's mouse keyboard (which converts your typing keyboard into midi controller).. so google it.. "Loopsbe1" and "Bome's mouse keyboard" ...note- you will still have to edit piano-roll with mouse for automating parameters and fixing mistakes-

or just use the good ol' mouse .

  • thanks..alot!!!!

  • Ohhhh... So that's how they do it! :P

    Thanks for the tutorial pandadnb.

  • you mean its how HE does it, its only 1 dude

  • fuck the ad, i wont watch the video now.

  • Whats the problem?

  • @mahkind lol thought the same thing

  • @mahkind

    just reload the page...

  • @mahkind Firefox + ABP. It's that f*****g simple.

  • @mahkind

    Refresh the page, fool.

    Ad gone.

  • @mahkind what ad?

  • @mahkind firefox adblock plus ftw.

  • DAMN, Dude you rock!

  • NICE! I've always wondered how Richard D. does this! This is a really great way, esp in Reason.

  • how did you place those notes so fast in the start?

  • Like Pandadnb, add one 64-note, copy it(Ctrl+C), and then hold in Ctrl+V to paste aaall you want! :-D

  • nice1 matey

  • jesus hands

  • can you control the intensity? how can this be done in fl studio?

  • afaik fl has this gra(i)nular sampler. pushing single beat fragments into multiple instance should be possible. however this tutorial is rather old and shows an inferior method of achieving the graintable/granular sampling effect in reason.

the more sophisticated method is using r4.0 using the rpg as windowing and an arbitrary lfo shape ( for more genuine results a saw shape or a exp. dc saw ) as gater. youtube has one or more vid on how to do this.

  • nice mix.

what's the name of that program?

  • reason

  • I cant figure out how to make the NN19 sampler use the whole loop as the sound. It just wants to use a single sound from the loop if that makes sense.... I dont know but Reason is really confusing for me

  • i have the same problem, but he isnt using a .rex file his usinsand entire wav

so maybe if youre converting your wav loops into .rex take out all the samples with the recycle just leave it as one bar sample.

its confusing and more with my english but did you get it?

  • I understand, but I might have to get some one on one help because I dont know how to use recycle haha

  • you can aso use soundforge or any audio editor that let save your work in a .wav file

  • ahhh okay I see what you mean, so save it as one sound rather than a drum map

  • yeah! thats right, i dont know if it works in MP3 format , but i already done it with WAV

  • afaik, reason still doesn't support mpeg's :(

  • WICKED@! im tryin this out right now.... can you set the fader to record as your messing with it though?

  • Yes, create a track for an automation lane and record the fader automation on it. Check the manual if you don't know how.

  • nice :-)

  • i do this with fruit loops 5, tracks are on my page

  • Yawn... much easier with Ableton, why not just use that program to do this and then put it in your favourite DAW, be it Reason, Renoise, Acid, Audition, whatever?

  • ordinary shit. i do real timestretching with that program since reason 2, all you have to do is to use the connectable elements on the back in right position

  • APHEX TWIN!

  • is there anywhere i can get a reason 3 manual as i aint got a clue what im doing with reason 3

  • there are build in manuals in the reason with pictures and everything

  • check out sound on sound magazine there are shitloads of reason tutorials there

  • Am i doing something wrong? because every time i try to load a break sample in the nn19 i click the break i want and instead of it loading in it opens another folder of the break but broken up into individual parts!!!

how do i get the whole break in

  • this guy's vids suck, this isn't 'time strectching' - its just altering the same sample in 64th notes, nothing is being stretched, thisis just a cheap snare roll, you can't do time stretching in reason as it's all midi, no raw audio.

  • Actually, some "time-stretching" algorithms work in a very similar fashion. I never thought of doing something like this in Reason.

I'll try it out some time; thanks, man.

  • who cares, same effect...

  • thats why its called time stretching "effect" and not actual time stretching

  • yea well at least he takes time to share his ideas whether u like them or not. Maybe u should post some to show us how its done

  • O.K. why not! I´ll just need some time to prepare the vids - never done this before. with the right knowledge you can tread reason like a small version of reaktor, i´m not talking shit! peace

  • I wish I understood this stuff.

I want to make music so badly.

  • Ill give you a few tips if needed. dont watch any of my youtube videos. those are old. I don`t post anymore. I have waaaaay better songs now. I could give you a few Reason tips or if you want any questions answered, ask away.

  • thanks man

  • can someone plz give me a link or tell me how to do this with fl studio? cuz everytime i search time stretch it goes on about changing the length of a sample without the pitch.

  • all you have to do is load up a drum loop in Slicex or FL slicer and dump it to the piano roll. then put the "snap to grid" at 1/4 step and move the snare hits or bass hits so they get as small as they will go then just add more next to them play with the spacing and the length to get cool effect. then you can add more by adding effects and automation.

  • just like that? ok thanx ill try it

  • apply the same principle of this to the uh.... grain sample thingy ma bobber.... really all this is doing is just running 64steps of the same sample and adjusting the starting point of the sample...

  • beginner techniques lol

  • stfu

  • Comment removed

  • Everyone starts somewhere, even a pro like you.

  • its not working when i turn up the sample start it just doesnt work :(

  • Same here. I'm in Reason 4. Maybe that's it.

  • don´t use just a simple drum

you need to use a drumloop!

  • dude, in 1:06 how did you put 64 pieces in the bar so quickly? by dragging? copying? lol how!? lol i cant do it

  • Mark the first bar and ctrl+c + ctrl+v. it's very easy.

  • i knew that! i was just testing :P

  • Testing what? :D

  • testing wether you knew that or not ;P
