This guy and the store manager in Santa Clara were the biggest assholes on earth. I made the mistake of trying to buy something with cash and not credit and i was met with profanity and sarcasm and character assasination. Of course being 18 at the time i got mad.....and even. I won't say how but they went out of business soon after.
Ed was a great man,Some would say that he was the greatest salesman in the world, And could be the nicest person, He could build you up an tear you down in one sentience and then make you laugh until you cried.. No one could say something bad to hes face they were all to afraid excpt for me ha ha, He could be hard to like but easy to love.No matter what you may think he was a good Man and Father. I will always love and miss that man. THE FURNITURE BOY...
does anyone have his unsolved mysteries segment? I collect unsolved mysteries segments and his is rare as it was never reran on lifetime. i have much to trade. no offense to Ed's son. I will try to post about his generosity elsewhere on the net. thanks.
Ed was a wonderful person. He helped my family because he was family. He had heart.Candy was on unsolved mysteries and said he had past away. Are you Ed Jr.? Many thanks.Jim Fuller jr.
Does anybody remember the commercial with the guiy selling furniture who always used to end it by saying, "Bye folks", kind if mimicking Ed Barbera's "Bye kids"?
@vividwatch47 I think his son tried to save the business and continued to make same like commercials while his dad was on the lame or doing the scam for investors to make his eff you money and disappear forever. But it wasn't like it was a national store. Just a famous San Jose chain.
don't believe everything you read. ed barbara passed away in 1989 of cancer and other details you have stated here are not true. I know this for a fact as he was my father...this commercial was a joke and was aired by accident...He was a good man and the information posted here is inaccurate.
So you saw a story on tv and you think you know something? I won't bother arguing with you as I know the facts and you probably spend the majority of your time commenting on things you know nothing about. Regardless of what he was accused of he had a heart of gold and helped many people and he is missed by more people than you probably even know.
The omission of an individual in this index does not indicate the person is still living. It simply means that there was no report of the person's death to Social Security Administration.
Actually I worked for Furniture USA and when Ed Barbara was tapeing commercials, they where horseing around, this one was aired by the t v station.Ed Barbara sued the station in court, was awarded $13,000.00 which he donated to some charity right then and there in court.Taught them a lesson.A really great guy.

I saw your father profiled on Unsolved Mysteries back in 89-90. He was WANTED. So how is that inaccurate?
