you are in a different key but only one or two out so it's not that different - usually on the sheets they make it a semitone higher

I don't agree with cylverfox. If everything need to be the same as the original, there will be nothing new.

Change the key create new feeling for the song. And do you know, cylverfox, Yesterday - of the Beatles is a song which has been covered, change key the most.

it is blasphemy to change the original key of ANY composer...especially john lennon. it is always important to maintain the original key - cause when you change the key it takes away from the original energy with which it was created---unless of course, you dont know the difference--then you can be forgiven cause you dont know what you are doing ...
