You should probably blame the mothers that fought to censor these companies. These characters were used to excite kids about eating sugary foods. After many lawsuits, which America is famous for, TV became a place to walk on thin ice. Every station has strict rules that they must follow for their target audience. This is the reason why most commercials are more boring now. Keep fighting those "evil" corporations, parents.
WHY IN THE HELL DID THEY GET RID OF THE CRAVER? =_= He was ALWAYS my favorite cereal mascot, and he did no harm. All he did was just encourage kids to eat cereal, nothing special! Except acting all crazy, which is his character. The best part about it is that in later commercials, the eaters of the cereal themselves became cravers!
I just want my childhood back! Besides, there's not really any Honey Comb ads these days. ;_;
@ROBOTBOY7499 - Oh totally. I used to love Oreo O's, but the main reason why they finished it was because of the Post Cereals and Ralcorp Holdings merger, forming Post Foods, LLC.
Once Post separated from Kraft, it was unclear if they would still have rights for the cereal. And because Post does not have any rights to the Oreo trademark, they cannot sell it anymore.
Does anyone miss the days when cereal commercials were actually fun, and not just some retarded soccermom making us give a shit about fiber and calories?
@KyFriedPlatypus Oh my God, yes! I thought I was the only one who was bugged about that. It's the same with waffles. Now, you shouldn't be feeding them to your kids unless they're whole wheat -_-
@aboutashow Not only have soccermoms bastardized breakfast, but they've also bastardized McDonalds! Remember the Fries in the Happy Meals? They've taken those off of the Happy meal, and replaced them with Apple Slices! You can still request Fries with it, but you'll only get 1/4 of the normal amount of fries in a Happy Meal.
@KyFriedPlatypus Of course I do! Ha, I even remember when they used to use dark meat in McNuggets, but times have changed I guess. Today, people are more concerned with stuffing their kids with "heathful" foods than they are with how much food there kid is actually eating. Making something full of fiber doesn't mean it's going to make you automatically thin...sigh
@aboutashow Yes, let's just put all of that lard back into kids. America is obese and unhealthy enough, we don't need dark meat nuggets and 4 cups of butter in a pie. If you want that, then go to Paula Dean's house.
@DrFeelGood6667 I'm not saying that I want that stuff back. I'm just observing how we've become more health conscious we've become since then. But the obesity population was lower back then even with that food because we didn't eat AS MUCH as we do now. And commercials aren't the same anymore because they're just trying to appeal to the parents rather than the kids. What's the point? They're no fun anymore.
@KyFriedPlatypus what commercial u talking about with a soccer mom? but yeah i remember when snack commercials were the shit and now they dont even make them like they used to.
@KyFriedPlatypus LOL YOUR COMMENT MADE ME LAUGH SO HARD. The sad part is though is that you're right. It's always some fit lady talking about how the cereal has vitamins and fiber and shit.
@KyFriedPlatypus Yes but as you get older you'll start to notice (or already have) that sometimes you're not always regular with your bowel movements. Having a balanced dose of fiber in your diet will help you stay regular.
@NiKKiBSEXCii You know, come to think of it… I haven't seen many Honeycomb commercials. Or Captain Crunch, Reese's Pieces and Cookie Crisp commercials for that matter.
@JohnsParadise Ahh those commercials arent worth it anymore anyway. The only survivors would be Resse's Puffs and Cookie Crisp, and their commercials today wont make you feel nearly as great as they would have in the 90s.
I'm craving Honeycombs now. They were so good!

This stuff was delicious but only when it was dry; it absorbed milk too well so it would just turn into tasteless soggy paper.

Back in '97 you'd see crowds of kids streaming out of movie theaters, rushing to the grocery store in unison, like a HIVE mind. Get it? Honey comb?!

I always thought when you really ate it you'd turn into the honeycomb monster.
I was so disappointed when I looked in the mirror after eating it and it was just still me!
