מה שמסביר את הבעות הפנים גם של חווה אלברשטיין וגם של נעמי שמר, הוא שהמופע הזה היה אמור בעצם להיות פרידה מנעמי שמר, כי היא היתה חולה מאוד וכולם היו בטוחים שהיא עומדת למות כמעט כל יום.

the song's composer. naomi shemer wrote only the (fabulous) lyrics, which are not a translation of the original greek.

hmm nice interpretation of Hadjidakis's "O Kosmos sou na eimai edw", also sung by the NYRRE in English as "The Day"... Is the singer called Hava Alberstein? I would like to know what the Hebrew version is about.

Also, does anyone happen to have the Yiddish version of the famous "Donna Donna"? I found the lyrics from the net but don't have the music..

The singer is indeed Chava (or Hava) Alberstein, and I believe this TV program was recorded in the early 90's. The lady in the white dress sitting across is the late Naomi Shemer, who wrote the Hebrew version. This version is called "Shir Sium", which means "End Song". The chorus goes:
