  • i got a UK katanna i made i video of it watch it

  • I am worried about the shuriken that would "fold" that rivet was very very clean so to speak

  • Did you notice senban shuriken were the shuriken were hanging. I thought senban was a Togakure shuriken. Oh and does thee fish on a stick taste like chicken?

  • @ninjatarquin it tastes nice, yes i saw the senban ones. Still never found a ninja star anywhere.

  • And additionally, there are other ninjutsu no hidensho that also mention shuriken, but exactly which is something I can't check at this time. I do, however, have an appointment with a historian working for the museum in Iga-shi, Ueno, after Christmas and we have some things to discuss with regard to my research of the various hidensho teachings. We'll see if we can find those that also speak of/illustrate shuriken and then I'll get back to you. (^^)b

  • Hey, Ant!

Nice video, thanks for sharing it with us all.

With regard to your comment in the video about shuriken not being mentioned in the various ninjutsu no hidensho, this is not correct and I believe it is because you are only looking at it from knowledge of the Sandai Hidensho, the Gunpô Jiyôshu and the Yoshimori Hyakushu. There are, however, other hidensho that speak of shuriken; the Iga-ryû Ninjutsu Inka no Maki being one of these.

Just a note. Hope it'll benefit your research.

  • @Jiraiyasamataaa we have checked over 50!!!! Not a single shuriken. We found one that is a little strange and not reliable. So, yes, if you get back to us on this it will be a big help. But 50 so far, not a thing!

  • @TSOAS2008

Will do. In the meantime, can you please send me a list of the 50 hidensho titles you have checked thus far so I may cross-reference these with my list of hidensho collections from the various libraries and museums here in Japan? Then I can narrow it down more, or point out if Minami-san may have missed something somewhere. Just send me an email - you have the address.

    Lenny - From Ôsaka

  • @Jiraiyasamataaa sorry mate, no can do. Last time i gave my scrolls out people robbed what i was doing. So secret until i have published the info. then i will put them up.

  • @Jiraiyasamataaa did you find the Shuriken in ANY of your manuals?

  • @TSOAS2008 Yes, in three different ninjutsu no hidensho so far...

  • @Jiraiyasamataaa thats great, you may be able to prove a link to ninja and throwing stars (even though it is redundent as all samurai used them in some form so my point will always stand) however if you have found a real manual with it in which is historically correct, good. Looking forward to the article/book/paper/video etc. Still waiting for your poem book. why is that not out?

  • @TSOAS2008 Please stop putting words in people's mouths. I never claimed that shinobi no mono were the ONLY warriors utilizing shuriken. Additionally, you're dead-wrong on your claim that ALL samurai used this weapon. Do some more research!

About my Yoshimori book, unlike you, Mr. Cummins, I do my research thoroughly rather than just pump all kinds of crap out there solely to try and make a name for myself. I actually care about the research. Like I said before, please don't contact me again!

  • Antony did ninja use kama?

  • @tarquinogilvie Hi, yes they did. They needed them to saw through things, lift bolts, cut bamboo, that type of thing.

  • why are you wispering ? are you robbing the place? ..... good job :D

  • @tubetoiletv2000 hahaha yes, i am, there were other people ther

  • @TSOAS2008 oh.....then your just a sucky ninja if you just walked in the front door shame on you....

  • Antony... I don't know if the owners would aquiesce but couldn't someone do a C14 test on the organic material to see what period it came from? Anything before 1950 can be dated to a rough estimate. It may not solve the question as to whether all items are from the same source but if several date to the right era some assumptions can be made.

  • @Ningishara totally agree and in fact if they were to c14 in that place, it would be best on the other stuff. and i have fell behind in Archaeology at the moment, but i am sure there are better ways now. But its the cost.

  • that kunai doesn't look like a kunai to me it's more like a gandomeken, theres lots of existing kunai from that era and they dont look like that

  • @scottbaioisdead can you show me a historically existing Kunai. That would be interesting.

  • @TSOAS2008 theres a museum in tokyo that has one it's from the 1600's wrought iron with lots of divets in it it's scoop shaped like a trowel with the handle and ring.

  • Antony .. i think you make a awsome work with all this investigation! Its so awsome to see how many things you can learn form a culture of that time ... have you ever think on translating the books in other language??? Maybe in Spanish?

    Keep the good work

  • Very interesting. I like how those tetsubishi have the barb hook designs on them. I would imagine those would be very difficult to pull out because of those barbs. The tetsumari design is also interesting and unique as the pictures i have seen of it were normally 2 flat roppo or happo shuriken cut in half and wielded together. Very interesting indeed.

  • It would be great if you get an interviw with kawakami, and ask him about Juan Hombre and his very very expensive ways to difuse "ninjutsu"

  • @hasaniguy We are actually out in Japan filming a documentry so this was them letting us look at stuff on a scouting trip for locations. We went back and filmed with full camera and doc crew.

  • Cool video :)
