Lol what I would appreciate is for you to stop commenting in these lindatermatter. you rlly have no life if you take time out to insult something recreational and fun. just get over it. it was awesome :) I should know.
As a former resident of Birkdale, I must say I CAN'T BELIEVE I MISSED OUT ON THIS!! I miss it there so much. The flash mob was awesome and it looks like it was such a blast. Good job Birkdale!!
I will say, however, that on the grounds of this being a well planned and announced event, it WAS successful and a kudos should be given to the organizers for the amount of people that turned out.
I just hope they try this again, except next time in true flash mob fashion.
"A flash mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual action for a brief time, then quickly disperse."
I find this impressive for it's orginization, but there was nothing sudden about it. The point of a flash mob is the element of surprise, to leave the general, unsuspecting public thinking, "What the hell just happened?"
When you announce that it's going to happen and have the NEWS report it, it's nothing more than a well planned dance party.
haha see now i feel bad for you. bc you write an insulting comment like its rlly going to matter. we all had fun plain and simple. you dont like it? dont watch it. this wasn't done to impress anyone. it was FUN look that word up in the dictionary lol. you wont find copy cat or amateur or any other negative words in the meaning.
i was there- i participated- and left Very disappointed. it was NOT a flashmob. it was an [over]organized public performance. And it was mainly used as a marketing tool. I'm sure the dance schools and everyone's Mom was very proud [and they did great] -but again it was NOT a flashmob- goes against all the ideology of a flashmob.
Hey Lindatermatt - Get a new life! This was fun for those who were and weren't there. Plus a local radio station was there - wouldn't they be licensed to use the music? My theory is that you are usually a party pooper wherever you go. Do us a favor and stay away from LKN please!

I have noticed the news stations, et al., have pulled the video and any association. I am not angry, I simply adhere to the laws and abide by the laws. The reason there are Flash Mobs is that they have adhered to the laws. Participation with this with Oprah was the Blacked Eyed Peas were in attendance and consented.
Stop being so negative. So this might not fit the flash mob mold exactly, but we all had a great time. It was a community team-buliding event. I think it was a huge success. I had so much fun! Thanks Terry!
if the goal was to get people together and dance and get happy than it was a success---flashmob it was not. People around you are to be unknowing of whats going on
we just finish doing a Flash Mob here in LA to honor Janet Jackson, and the queen herself came down to witness it, WOW, WE LOVE YOU JANET..check out my youtube page to view the videos
First time we've felt a real and physical sense of "community" here in LKN. I don't think anyone can deny the fact that this was a spectacular event filled with pure joy and energy. Keep on rockin on!
Terry this is AWESOME!! I hate I wasn't able to make it! Great job...if anyone can pull something like this off with a huge success it's definitely you!!! YAY FOR TEAMBUILDING :-)
A Flashmob does not start with an official announcement, and is not posted on newspaper and tv outlets the night before. The key is that a Flashmob is supposed to appear as an impromptu event...not have someone announcing that "if you are here for the flashmob, it stats at 4:30 by the movie theater".
@birkdaleresident - I agree, this is very cool, and well choreographed and organized. But it is not a flashmob. Although a flashmob can be announced ahead of time, the location and, sometimes, time of a flashmob is usually announced at the last minute. Hence the "flash."
that was sooo fun :]
titan band in fronttt! :DDDD
thanks so much, best day ever (:
