I have alway's loved this band, from early it-bites, to present day. I was absolutely gutted when they cancelled Pontypridd muni, but I hope to catch them again.
I was first made aware of this new offering from It Bites on the strength of this You Tube video. I've since bought the album and I can't stop playing it. It's utterly gorgeous. I just adore this band.
@chrissmalley - drums are often done last on projects like this ie. no huge studio budgets to spend months in the studio. So the songs are wirtten and rehearsed first, then recorded in small project studios (peoples front rooms\sheds etc) then drums done at the proper expensive studio in just a few days, then finished off (bass re-recorded to lock in with drums etc) back in the project studio. Much cheaper for bands with no huge record company money!
Good stuff. But what's with putting the drums on over the track last Bananas if you ask me. As for the F.D - J.M debate I am a big big fan of J. M.s work (the man who can't possibly ever sleep) even went all the way to Rome to see Arena gig. Had an F.D lounge gig at my place so I know a thing or too. Looking forward to the Islington gig. 'Tall Ships' really does the I.B legacy proud. Listen to 'Lights' the melody and harmonics on the chorus are classic I.B Thanks give us a wave on the 26
Quite an insight into the whole process. Very glad they seem to be making some sort of joining up thing. Those moments when the band just play and seem to stretch time are truly sublime. Drumming and bass as one, Frank right out there occasionally coming in from orbit, but never being too far away. Love it
I cannot believe I didnt keep a look out for this! Went to see It Bites every opportunity I got, even got to sit and chat with them after they supported Robert Plant at Sheffield City Hall, they had a B&B at the Frog & Parrot and Tim the guitarist from our band, Took his walkman out , went straight over to their table and asked Frank if we could sit and have a quick chat!
two of the four now as Dick Nolan has been "relieved" of his bass playing duties due to his lack of commitment. Bloody shame as now it has less appeal. Though what I have been hearing (which is all excellent stuff from the new band) Dick had no involvement in writing or recording.

I like the way he has his jumper tucked into his pants whilst munching his sandwiches - very rock and roll.

I must buy this album. I've listened to this track on My Space and it's so exciting.

I like the sound! But in my opinion Mitchell's voice just isn't as strong as
Dunnery's. I'm not sure how JM will sound
singing Frank's songs. I have heard most of
"Playground" and that is very good too.
But I think there'll be a certain type of
"soul" missing without Frank. Sorry, John.

buy an album by KINO, then you will GET this new line up.

I do care how this album turns out, but I care more that they play OATW in full on the resulting tour - that'll really test JM's chops!

Is it all of the original line-up or most of them ? Sounds good, definitely!

Three out of four... John Mitchell is doing the guitars and vocals instead of Frankie D.

Gone are the bottles of Corvoisier & roll up cigarettes...sandwich anyone?
Sounds slightly reminiscent of the OATW era, be interesting to hear the full album sans FD. When is it due out?
