The Eclipse cannon with all 7 Chaos emeralds unleashes more power then a Super nova and focus's it into a beam of energy that is shot at the target.

upon impart, This focused energy unleashed itself with destrurtive force and then bam! the object The ecplise cannon has targeted has been destroyed as all the energy in unleashed in all directions.

Basic rule of the universe. more Energy=more Destruction.Get enough energy and the power to destroy stars and planets is yours.

This Must be how eggman later went back the the Space colony ARK after sonic left and fixed the moon.

Its the only think I can think of to explain y the moon is fixed in every other game after this.

You even seen eggman take another up close shot at the moon in sonic colors and its fixed! The moon is 100 percent hole and round in that game to!

Eggman really needs to get some new plots because using gods ,large Eggman fleets,Gient space cannons and fail killer robots just don't work.

It starts out with Eggman laughing with joy that he's gonna put the moon back together. Everyone watches anxiously as the moon is put back together, a flash of light appears, then a random laser comes out of the moon and flies across the sky, hitting Eggman's ARK. The laser blast causes the ARK to become magnetic, making a bunch of crap stick to it. Eggman gives a speech of how awesome he is for putting the moon back together, but no one cares and walks away.

Thing is, when you see this and the moon going back together it makes you realise how destructive the forward blast really was.

You know, if you watch the forwards a few times you're like 'Eh.' but when you watch it backwards it gives you a horrific sense of dread once again. O.O
