A bit hard to tell from the video but the black pipe appears to almost angle down as it comes off the stove - not good. Also I think there's very good reasons not to install the MPD that far up the black pipe. I may be wrong but you could post the question (or search) on hearth.com (great folks). Nice stove - one of the better ones ever made. Its also recommended to keep a nice 2" thick bed of ashes at the bottom of the stove for heat retention etc - hope this helps and thx for sharing
i have gotten around in this house without the heater, i turn it on at night when i come home. but it can be about 8.c in the morning. about 35.f? infact when it gets to about 10 in the morning its warmer outside then in and i open the windows.
its cold here but not that cold it doesnt snow only frost.
Great job ! You have thought it all thru carefully & addressed every bit of what could and might happen. The stove & pipes look fabulous ! So happy for you all to now have a superior, more efficient heat source.
Hmm. I suspect I need to heat mine more. the other morning I woke up and it was 20 inside the cabin. The wash basin was frozen over. I wonder how much I can just deal with with it and not heat. I'm actually ok if I wear a jacket and am moving around. It's a balancing act between comfort and laziness. I tend to favor the latter.

I use sheet metal screws to hold my stove pipe together. Easy removal for cleaning every season.

Apple wood is supposedly the best and cleanest burning fuel...so I heard.

Maybe you should put a Fire Extinguisher nearby.
