The California Grizzly was very close to the Grizzlies found in present Alaska on the coast, or those found in upper B.C Canada. The California Grizzly lived thoughout the valley regions all the way down to the coast. Being so warm in CA. many never slept though the winter. Because of this and other reasons the bears got very large. As a side note, there is a group of folks trying to re-introduce the Grizzly back to California in very remote areas.- Patrick Karnahan (Songwriter)

is it possable that they surved. are they special grizzleys or regulatr grizzlys.
