Not really true. "Try A Little Tenderness" was first released in 1932 . . . .Otis Redding was born 1941 so this song was around way before Redding was alive. It was recorded initially by the Ray Noble Orchestra w/ vocals by Val Rosing then many singers from the likes of Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, etc sung it throughout the years and Otis Redding recorded it in 1966. So Otis didn't originally sing this song but he defintely popularized it.
