The Takhi look similar to the Kiang of western Tibet. Called Tibetan Wild Ass in English they are actually a type of equus. Never domesticated, there are many Kiang herds still running around Tibet completely wild. I once spotted some from the Golmud-Lhasa highway however most likely the rail line has pushed those herds west.
@DeaDmAno0 This is not donkey named khulan that horse's grandpa's grandpa's grandpa lol. And europian horses big but these khulan's and mongolian horses' patience is more better than any horse of other horses' this is how Chinggis khan and Attila khan owned the whole world. Sorry my english is bad. xaxa
There are wild horses in my dear Hungary too, and recently people from the far east (either from China or Mongolia, cant remember) visited to study possible ways to protect ther wild horse population.
I think protecting endangered species is very important.
It's it funny. Domesticated horses have never been in danger of extinction.
In similar news, wild animals in African countries that allow hunting have been thriving, while those same animals in countries that ban hunting are going extinct.
The evidence is obvious. Only the free market, only GREED can save species. Governments cannot.
@sleeknub It isn't greed that's responsible. It's a lack of property rights. People will protect their property. When something is unowned by anybody, people wont respect that property, and nobody will have any incentive to protect it.
wish i could run wild and free like those horse =D

@dyne313
To be fair, greed is responsible for many animals going extinct.

@Maza675 maybe you can give them some :)
ayad09 7 months ago
@Maza675 Australia's horses are domesticated horses gone wild or feral whereas Mongolia's wild horses are the never-domesticated "wild".

@Maza675
Melissa Chan's twitter: Other "wild horses" in the world were formerly domesticated ones left wild, like American mustangs or those in Australia.
