@mistaxray How can you be so sure? ;) Actually it is illegal... Or at least it is forbidden to take photos (and probably filming too) in the cockpit. Some cox had took a photo of the pilot in the cockpit and he got into trouble.
@m4yflower Well it is definitely not illegal in Germany! If been sitting on that seat lots of times and none of the captains ever told me that it is illegal to take pictures or videos. Just check out spotter pages likes Airlinersnet and you will see that there are tons of cockpit photos.
@mistaxray So you are saying that in Germany they just let anyone to the cockpit?? If so, then people must be very stupid because it is a high security risk. There shouldn't be anybody else but the cox and the pilot in the cockpit.
@m4yflower Of course not everybody is able to get into the cockpit, only those who are allowed to. But it is still not forbidden to take pictures and videos in the cockpit.
@mistaxray Well, maybe it depends on a carrier if it is forbidden or allowed to take photos and videos in the cockpit. As I said earlier, I read an article about a cox who had taken a photo of sleeping pilot and the cox got into trouble. And it was said in the article that it is forbidden to take photos in the cockpit. This happened in a plane of carrier named Cathay Pacific.
@m4yflower Well of course you get into trouble if you take a picture of a pilot sleeping in the cockpit (this btw is not forbidden, most people just don't know that a pilot may sleep in flight aslong as the other pilot monitors the controls) and post it on the internet. But it is really not forbidden to take pictures of cockpits!
Sometimes i can still see an MD-11 on (Finnair colors?) over Helsinki. The MD-11 was aborted from Finnair´s fleet successively during last two-three-four years. These planes are still flying, some of them as cargoplanes for Aeroflot. So maybe i saw some freighter during serviceflight over Helsinki? And misty skies maked it difficult to see companysigns on those planes?
@IhanNormal They are subcontractor flights operating Finnair Cargo MD-11 flights, using old Finnnair pax MD-11s OH-LGC and -LGD. Aeroflot is not involved.
was the flaps set to 35 or 50 ?

@ustiansniper At the end of part I of the video, the captain called for "flaps full", so 50 degrees it is.

How was this video filmed by the way? It is illegal to film (and to take photos) in the cockpit , isn't it?
m4yflower 4 months ago
@m4yflower No, of course it is not illegal!

Thanks man! He-HE! Another "go-around" for these pilots! BTW--Finnair still flying the MD-11? Sweet combo --the livery on that aircraft!

As far as I know the last MD11 will leave Finnair's fleet in a few week after beeing replaced by two new A333s.

Finnair's last commercial MD-11 flight were in february. Sad, but now new A333's and A343's are replacing them =D.
