i like that idea the only thing i dont like is if other manufactures take holden or ford teams if they make their own teams i will be glued to the tv i can tell you that
I personally don't see a problem with having 'no manufacturer DNA' in the cars. I just want to see good racing, and if that means 4 of the same cars with different shells, then so be it.
@XTera22 The cars they use in Nascar are the exact same. If the cars were different shapes, they would have different aerodynamics and thus a great difference in the super speedway races. So the cars are different by name and graphics only.
It will be good to see global manufacturers participating in this V8 heaven!
As for the engines, all V8 with any displacement, free rev limit not set by rules, turbo, supercharged or naturally aspirated, as long as they all produce roughly the same power output in kilowatts.
I don't feel many V8 supercar fans are going to like the idea of other manufacturers on the race track. It will ruin the V8's! Once this happens I personally will stop watching and attending the races!!!
@marzy56 Im pretty sure most people want to see it the other way. Only bogans want the nonsense that is happening at the moment! I personally have stopped watching the V8s till the bring out this new car. It is so boring watching two taxis race. Bring back the 90s
@marzy56 Doing this makes sure you can see our Falcons and Commodores around the track longer. If they didn't do this, I say if they got another 5 years out of this the sport would die. COTF means you can see them for another 10.
Everyone needs to look at the bigger picture. But I guess it is just the vocal minority voicing their disapproval...
@marzy56 nice one marzy56, I'm sure v8 supercars will love it if you stopped watching, more room for new fans. Opening the front door is great not only for the fans, old and new, but also for the sport, wouldn't it be cool if you saw a BMW M5 screaming down conrod straight? It will bring more money to the franchise and who knows if it gets really popular, more races in other countries than AUS, NZ or UAE?
V8 Supercars. Come to America and people will come to the track!

I like how it says "NOT like NASCAR with no manufacturer DNA".

Braking thermal capacity is determined much more by rotor width then by the diameter.

@marzy56 why wouldn't we like other manufacturers on the race track? I don't understand how that could possibly be a bad thing
