@kate082009 For sauces and Smoothies it'll be just fine. I guess you can do a soup in it, I just never tried before. I'm not sure how good the blade design is to do a decent puree. If you're going to do a soup with small ingrediants like lentils or pees, it should he okay. Also to blend the soup after its cooked, not putting raw vegetables in there will make things easier.
Just the overall design of the blender, the motor is isn't all that powerful. I'm sure soups are ok if done correctly.
I meant to say that, the motor isn't all that powerful; but more than enough power to do simple things like a smoothie. I only speculate that it can do a soup as long as you cook it before hand. But rough chops of raw vegetables like carrots, celery, kale etc, I think the blender will have some tough time to puree that; if not cooked through.
But mine is still going strong. Everyday usage with multiple uses per day. No problems or issues.
@GtsXracer Thanks for your reply, it sound like it could do everything i would want as long as i cook the vegetables before. Have you tried blending pine nuts in there for a pesto sauce? And can you remember where you got yours from and how much it was?
Haha yeah, doing everything to a sense - is agreeable if everything is done properly. Pine nuts, unfortunately I have not. When I think about it though, knowing the blender and its limitations, if grinding pine nuts raw - it'll turn out to be a pretty rough chop. If done when its cooked and the seeds are softened up, there shouldn't be any problem. the only problem is, the viscosity of a pesto sauce is usually pretty thick. Not sure if the motor will struggle or not to puree.
I got mine at walmart for $15 I believe. It was definitely under 20 for sure. Walmart.... Only thing useful here on campus at school :-D. Bed bath and beyond has something similar but it's more expensive. This blender platform-design is pretty common. So you should be able to find something Very similar anywhere, most likely not a Hamilton brand but, same design though. Heck, I bet even best buy would have the samething.... If your local best buy carriers home appliances in store.
@200alfred I thought about it, I actually never tried crushing ice in it. From other reviews though who have tried seems like it didn't turn out that great. So didn't every try it =\
i got the blender and it's working llike a charm :D i like it so much...best $15 ever!!! but yeah u can't make a soup out of it...well its good enough
Working perfectly fine. No problems with the motor or how the plastic wheel grips the rubber feet of the blades. Worked just how it did right out of the box. Never had any strange jamming problems when the motor seized up or the cup got stuck to the base system.
I make two smoothies a day, 7 days a week. All are consisting of the ingredients in the video.
Sounds good! :D I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Soup? I have not but I'm pretty sure it can withstand making it. Not sure about putting boiling hot liquids in there; but to puree a base when cold... definitely do-able. I have wanted to put meat in there to attempt making gyro meat... Haven't done it. Can't get myself to put meat in there lol
Best smoothie making video I've seen on YouTube. No bullshit. No time wasting saying dumb instructions.
Just awesome. Great music too.
