That's not good enough for me. We were conquered by the British and made to learn their language, there is a standard English Dictionary which shows you how to pronounce the words.
I don't want to see our French Creole disappear either but one must learn to master the languages he was given and some of it's intricacies so that people can see that he is serious about his education and lifelong learning.
I hope you tell the Bajans and Jamaicans and Trinis that as well; because, none of us will sound like a proper Brit. And if one does sound like a Brit, you'll criticize that they're "yanking"!

Not every Saint Lucian understands patois.. i suggest maybe you guys start adding sub titles, i for one would appreciate it.

We can still keep our regionalisms but when we speak in an official context we need a standard language in order to teach those who seek to learn.
