their is a difference in a garden tractor and a lawnmower. a lawn mower is most of the time made by mtd and u use it for a season and then u junk it a garden tractor like that sears is built a lot heaver than a lawnmower and they are more tractor like. any one that says different is stupid.

I never had any luck with lawn mowers that where made after 1991 and I get them free most the time and turn them into scrap only ones I do keep in the 90s are the rear moter ones.

That old Onan is definitely worth some time & money to get it running. They're great motors. You just don't want to overhaul one. Parts are unbelievably expensive. Great find.

@roberto25721 a lawnmower is something that you [ush around to cut grass, a lawn tractor aka tractor is something you ride to cut grass, or pull trailers with. if you actually look at an older one without a deck it looks a lot like a real tractor

i have a 2004 craftsman 6.75 hp briggs & stratton and it burns oil. i took the head appart it check the headgasket, and some of the screws were covered in oil, does that mean the headgasket, is bad?

No, the head gasket is probably OK, sounds like it could have bad rings though. You might want to do a compression test anyway though.

We got the two Agway's running somewhat. The Sears SS16 has a bad starter so we couldn't do anything with that, and the Millennium has a seized motor thanks to not having a hood or carb cover for so many years.

The only one that has a motor that's locked up (from sitting) is the Tecumseh on the Millennium. That tractor also has a locked up rear end. All the others turn over by hand and roll so they aren't totally gone. I think the Sears has the most potential right now.

Nice score! Reminds me of the last 4 tractors i bot about a year or so ago- all rusty, one had its upper intake full of water .

Id thouroughly spray them down with clorox n wash em before messing with em- i got some poison ivy when i took my old agway thru the mud last week.

Well, im sure some stuff can be salvaged off those tractors- arent a total waste, PLUS freebies are a good thing.

Oh yeah, were going to have to power wash these for sure! That yellow Sears is the grungiest tractor I ever saw, and when we picked up that Millennium, it was held into the woods with poison ivy vines. We had to cut it free with some pruners. It was wrapped up so much in vines we couldn't move it! Hey, now I got all the bagger parts I need for my green and silver Montgomery Ward!

Sweet! Its like that one 97 mastercut i got free with a complete bagger- hell it was worth it JUST for the bagger setup alone.

Since y have a ton of tractors already i assume most will be for parts only- me id try to get em all running/mowing again- even the one with the water in the intake.

Ive gotten a few like that running again- dump the water- clean it up- use some PB blaster to grease things up and fire it up.
