Did it make youtube think you were actually uploading moreof the video? rather than using the bandwidth provided for uploaded extra length, you tricked it into using that bandwidth for extra quality? Ofcourse, if thats the case then theres no way this would work for full length movies, a 3 hour movie would roughly take the buffer time of a 30 hour movie, since judging by this vid the time it plays and the actual length is timesed by 10.
That's not far off from how it worked. This method was made for uploading short clips in high quality - if you were to upload an entire movie, you would have to split it to about 40 parts or something. So basically you're right.
It might seem like it's loaded, but that's because of how I "tricked" YouTube. You have to let it load at least 50%, as claimed in description. L2read :P
Yeah I can definitely see the quality getting better with this. However it lags in Firefox. I guess my computer is too slow to run it? Or beacuse I opened too many tabs. =/
is there any way to get this quality for a longer period of time than a minute or so? i know it can only be 27 mgs large or something like that, but theres no code around that sort of thing as well?
Then you'll have to do better to trick Youtube's upload system. I'm sure it can be done, but as of now I have no good ideas. I'll release that program in about two weeks, you can play about and see for yourself then.
Well, not exactly. I just preconverted the movie for YouTube, cranking up the resolution in the process. This just allows you to watch anime in higher quality on youtube ^^
GOD! its even better in HQ .!!!

Maxlength is then 1:34? :P

Not necessarily max length, but I decided to chop it at the end of the movie. The trick is stopped now, anyways.

Of course. All you need is pYTEnc - it's in the Downloads section of my website (the one in the vid). Enjoy! ^^

Veldig nice, Praetox!
Kjørte Firefox med 15 faner eller noe samtidig, og alikevel lagget det nesten ikke samtidig som oppløsnngen var helt himmelsk.
Kanskje prøve med en "ekte" film neste gang? Ikke tegnet/animert...
questmester 4 years ago
Man ser kvalitetsforskjellen best når det er animert - legg merke til hvor skarpe strekene er. :P
Dessuten veit jeg ikke åssen dette er i forhold til YouTube's lovverk, så har ikke planer om å legge opp flere filmer.

If you want to watch the movie in its full glory, you could always download it and watch in an .flv player. That does the trick in most cases.

Stopped after the intro. Unable to move the time.
ExcaliburXVII 4 years ago
Due to how this is done, YouTube thinks it's much longer than it really is. This is indeed only the intro - think of it as a proof-of-concept.
