Wow! This was lucky! This crash reminded me of another crash that happened on The Mountain. It wasnt my uncle's crash (connor cummins) it was another one, i cant seem to remember who it was that crashed but he/she crashed near Windy Corner. Dont know if any of you remember that? If so, reply to this please. Thanks
I feared the worst when this happened,i could hear the passenger opposite me talking but the driver, dan, wasn't moving,so it was a long walk back to my tent at Union mills. Didn't know if i should show the pictures to anyone,so eventually got a contact web-site off the body-work.Glad that both of you are with us and can talk about it! Hope to get back to TT soon so we can meet up.
I was there for this, was like a bomb going off! Me and my dad were watching just down from bedsted. My dad just happend to have his Marshals vest with him and is in several of these pics helping out the rider. Glad to hear both rider and pasenger are doing well!
I fell off at laurel bank once ,it always hurts! glad you survived, I wiitnessed britains worst sidecar crash at oulton park in the sixties , its a tuff game, god bless you guys.
I wish I had missed it Matty. 6 weeks in hospital, 6 months on crutches, still in pain more than 3 years later but worst of all.....still can't bend the legs enough to get on an outfit to get back out there to finish the lap. Like you say, thanks to the marshalls for sweeping us up and the medics for bolting us back together. By the way, passenger was ok, when ankle healed, and now races his own outfit.
@dancbrf2 Gawd I could hardly watch that sequence. So glad you both made it though. And, spoken like a true sidecar nutcase, you want to get out here and finally nail the lap - good on ya, boy! Sidecar racing - the most fun you can have with your clothes on. Those solo boys just don't get it. Hope you manage to bend again. Love from a retired (and subsequently frustrated) passenger.
@dancbrf2 You should take up a different form or racing, or play Russian roulette with a one shot LOL. It's tood to know you survived, I'm sorry to read you still have some creaks and squeeks though. You fellows across the pond are kinda nuts when it comes to racing on "tracks" that ought not be raced on, it makes my skin crawl just to watch it....and I raced figure eight stock cars...ever see that? that was nothing compared to what you did. I hope the bones loosen up and stop hurting, GBles
@505197 I'm in Australia so I had to look up what Figure 8 racing is, and watching some footage of that was pretty scary. Hey lets build a racetrack with an intersection, just to make things interesting.
