yeah probably tim being out west now, and busy being one of the baddest bass players on the planet probably just didnt have the block of time available that wayne did for recording.... or for other reasons perhaps who knows. tims the kind of guy that could have played on every track the way wayne wanted him to sound as well as could have sounded like tim on the track or or even tim playing to sound like how another bass player would have sounded on it! im sure im just stating the obvious!
Will be very interesting to see what WK has come up with here. Obviously the music seems more personal, in some sense. But the material with "the Trio" (especially the weekly lo-fi 55 bar recordings) was *transcendent* (as, e.g., J.S. Bach's best work). The shift to greater personal expression in WK's music might necessarily sacrifice any possibility of such transcendence. But look forward to hearing where he is taking his music in any event.
