I see them GBW boxcars you have at the beginning of your video, they are now gone from that spot....I wonder where they went, my guess is they got scrapped :* - (
@JeremiahTrane Yeah it's a shame, a few months ago they went up for sale on an online auction website. I'm sure someone picked them up for cheap and scrapped them out.
I found one GBW almost the same way. In an industrial Park in Addison Illinois, boxcar # 4396. It also was on a piece of track that was disconnected from the spur (IC/CN Blue Island to Dubuque). I drove by it to work every day for years. Then suddenly it was gone. I think the railroad put down a temp track and yanked it out.
Great video...If your ever around the Green Bay area again...Let me know....I'll tag along with ya and we can scope out some more GBW stuff...Take a look at some of the remains of the GBW
Yea! That would be cool. I wonder how much old iron is out there. :) I live just off webster street in Allouez, so yea. I'm kind of a youngster, (16) but I'm really getting into railfanning. I think it's one of the funnest hobbies I have.
Yo Andy...Member you and I walked down there....I was the one that showed you where they were that day.....We should go RR fanning the next time your in town....
Judging by the COTS (Clean Oil Test and stencil Brakes Valves) I would assume they been there over 30 years. Most likely privately owned card used for storage as you surmized. Good shot of the Hand brake. Ive had to climb up there many a time to inspect and repair hand brakes. You dont see many now days with the brake at the top.

If I remember right from a post on the GBW group on Yahoo I think X190 is out of commission, but not sure where it's stored.

the plow might be from the 50s or 60s.

the snowplow is a flanger snow plow.the flangers open up to help push snow away from the rails.
RailFanDavid 2 years ago
They use this plow not only for snow...They also use it to push ballast around now as well
