i was gona buy a pc from computer planet but i'v looked on every uk gaming pc website some are too expensiv or reviews are very very bad but the website iis cheap is nova tech good cus im geting really enoyd
NOVATECH RULE!! I recently bought the X1 GTX 18.4" and its the best looking laptop i have ever seen, and performs like a dream out of heaven! plays crysis more than easily at 65 fps, tested using fraps in record mode, and has awsome cooling
i used it for a day straight and no heating issues! i was ammazed, my last laptop overheated massively! and fried the solder on the motherboard, RIP, it was a clevo tho, bit overpowered for the time with no real cooling to bak it up
The day that the nvidia to create a video-card with the power of 8800M GTX in SLI in one alone card, games as crysis and farcry 2 will be able to play in very high video settings and resolutions like 1920x1200 (1200p. However, I am waiting for.
Yeh off the power gaming is bad, but thats only to preserve battery, I think there is a way to increase the performace, but that would hammer the battery life. Sk8kid1995, it has a T9500 Core 2 Duo 2.5 Ghz Penryn CPU
got an x80r with the t9300 last friday, love this machine dude! However, off of adapter power it seems most gaming laptops bite ass. (even on high performance, TF2 lags like a bitch). Regardless, to all brits, buy the x80r >:O
No worries... looks very very nice though.. I'm seriously tempted... might hang fire for a few weeks and see how the reviews of the Alienware m15x fare... other than that, this is probably the one for me.
I did look at the Rock Xtreme 770. But the nearest one that matches the x80r spec wise is the X770-T9300-8800 for £1799.00 inc VAT. This has only 2 gb ram instead of 4, and the HDD is 40gb smaller
yup... the Novatech looks like a bargain in comparison - plus looking at the Rock forum it seems people who ordered in November '07 are still waiting for their machines!
Hehe I did originally order a m15x, but cancelled it to get the x80r. My budget was £1500. and the specs are far better on the x80r for that price :-)

Is 9800m gtx 1gb much better than a 8800gtx 512mb?
thamas99 3 years ago
hmmm... probably not much difference if it IS the gtX. If its the normal GT then yes, a considerable difference.

Do you know if it's got Turbo Memory installed?

Nice.. very impressive for a laptop.
What res. was this running at?
Is it in DirectX9 or DirectX10 mode?
Also: Did you consider the Rock Xtreme 770? I think they share the same Clevo chassis?
