  • Thanks for an interesting and informative video. I feel information is the key to understanding.

Two questions I hope you yourself, or a viewer can help me with.

There are some beers (Bavaria 0.0% for example) that use a different process and are technically not a beer because they aren't brewed to produce alcohol in the first place. Are they Haraam?

Yeast is everywhere and turns natural sugar into alcohol inside the fruit we eat straight from the tree. Is natural alcohol Haraam?

  • Becks Blue Alcohol-Free Beer (0.05%) ......

  • i drank just one sip of non alcholic beer in my all life and i m feeling guilty that why i did that...Oh Allah plzzz forgive me...

  • @gmdchanar Oh for the love of god shut up. Alcohol is actually found naturally. You prob had alcohol im plenty of other forms and not know it. Its only a danger if you drink to much of it which you can never do with this stuff cos you have to drink at least 8 pints of it to notice it in one hour.

  • haram

  • (Ran out of characters)

But then again idealy you should NOT drink "non-alcoholic beer" as it imitates alchoholic beer. I am guessing this is to do with intentions... But not sure...

    Best advice -

    ASK YOUR LOCAL IMAM!

  • This video needs more research done on it, Iran has approved a company which makes non-alchoholic "beer" (I wouldnt call it beer, maybe juice...).

The process is different because the fermentation does not take place which creates the alcoholic elements within the beer thus making it without any alchohol. But then again its true, SMALL TINY TRACES of alchohol will be in the beer but then again there is alchohol within fruit as fermentation takes place within the fruit. (Not sure though)

  • if it's 0% alcohol i think it's better to be called as Malt or Barley beverage. in fact Marmite can be considered illegal (in Islam) too because it's a brewing by-product.

  • dammmm...and i had an ice cold Bavaria waiting for me in thr freezer..... :(

  • @koolaid5684 did you know there are a few brands of "halal beer" such as Hillsburg and Barbican from Arab? Barbican comes with variety of fruit flavors but the original flavor (malt) tastes like the real thing except there's no alcohol.

  • i live in pakistan & i drick it whats wrong with it.baavaria is cool.

  • continuing...So the 0.0% ABV is made at the factory using no alcohol at all and is really non alcoholic and is classed as halal. Drinks like bavaria 0.0% abv is halal, cobra 0.0% abv and kaliber 0.0% abv are all halal. The iranian government excepts their country of muslims to drink these halal beers as well as a number of arabic countries. Cobra is excepted by the iranian government. Can you please confirm this, as this is what I have read about the 0.0% abv having no alcohol? Many thanks

  • tell me please, as far as I know most non alcoholic beers as they are called really contain 0.05% ABV (alcohol by volume) They are classes as non alcoholic as you can drink about 6 liters of the drink which is basically 20 330ml cans and only feel a little drunk. Still being safe to drive. They make this beer by removing real alcohol like you mention in your video. These are not halal and like you say haram. But then their is 0.0% abv, I continue in next reply...

  • Non-Alcoholic Beer is allowed in Islam; Saudi Arabia sell them a lot in various flavours. These are non intoxicant (Khamr). (MD. P.h.d)

  • Islam saved me! I thank Allah. But now I know why we can't drink alcohol. It can cause risk to our health!

  • I agree, drinking alcohol is haram. BUT! If the whole is haram not all parts must be haram. If a bike is faulty not all parts must be faulty for it to be faulty. You can have a faulty bike with working pedals or tires that you can sell for 50$ you know...

SECOND, it doesnt have to be a culture thing. If it is WITHOUT alcohol than I believe it is OK. The alcohol is the main factor not the social atmosphere. Plz come with a better explanation you might misguide others. Also correct me if im wrong

  • @weinmarr With all due respect, consuming, distributing, purchasing, serving, ect... alcohol is HARAM. Now knowing the fact that alcohol is haram from the start we can say that part of it isharam as well due to the fact that the "non- alcoholic beer" is made through the same process as regular beer. Do note that "non-alcoholic beer" is a misnomer.

  • @weinmarr The reason non-alcoholic beer contains alcohol is because it starts its life as regular beer in most cases. The alcohol is removed after the brewing process has ended which is achieved through evaporation- this just means that the beer is cooked until most of the alcohol is gone, and then the end result is it being bottled.

  • @weinmarr The example you gave about the bike does not make sense because it is something we as humans do not eat or drink, and the bike is not haram in the first place. I hope this kinda clears things up.

  • Well that was interesting. I didn't even know that the made 'non-alcohalic' beer. I would keep away from it period. The term beer/wine is enough to freak me out

  • well its kinda stupid logic. I personally never drank alcohol. I mean isnt everything once haram. Like the plants get their nutrition from mud, dung, feces etc. Who knows what was in there maybe someone who drank alcohol pooped under the tree and then those plants produced food. It might contain .001% of that bad stuff/haram. And shouldnt that mean we cant drink that too. OR what about water maybe somewhere someone dropped alcohol in it and we know it contains impurity and yet we drink it.

  • @Xzibillion you're going about it all wrong. In Islam Alcohol is haram from the start, we aren't talking about plants. I dont know if you've heard of filtration before drinking water and water is not extracted from filthy places and if it is it is most definitely purified before we consume it. You're not using logic, your just making it harder for yourself. Islam is pretty straight forward and not as complicated as people think it to be.

  • @XxSiByllaXX

ok u clearly havent got the logic. First off water at some point becomes filthy and then it is purified. Just like the non alcoholic beer which does also to filter. The process from removing alcohol from the beer is called fermentation which is basically boiling of liquids with different filters to capture the unwanted substances. It is quite effective. Now there is no 100% purity in anything, even water could be mixed with some other stuff even after filtration.

  • @Xzibillion you seem to be lost. Are you serious when you say "the process from removing alcohol from the beer is called fermentation?" When barely is brewed and fermented your end result is beer. Now through the process of fermentation the content of alocohol is produced. You can do the research on your own.

  • @Xzibillion The reason non-alocoholic beverages is a misnomer is because there is some small amounts of alocohol still present in the beverage, the alcohol is not completely removed and in Islam alcohol of any amount whether it be a drop or keg it is HARAM and we cannot consume it. The water example you gave makes no sense because no one in their right mind would drink filthy water, and the other thing you have to understand is that in Islam ones intention counts more.

  • @Xzibillion When you say lets say water can be mixed with other stuff what kind of other stuff are you talking about? If its Haram and it is stated in the ingredients then we must not consume it, but as we all know we have labels stating what is in the product or not.

  • @Xzibillion If one has the pure intention of drinking the product knowing that nothing in it is Haram then it is Halal for him whereas one who knows it is Haram and drinks it with the intention of knowing it is haram then it is Haram for him. It might sound a lil confusing, but its kind of hard to explain it when typing it. I hope that clarifies things a lil better.

  • Pretty sad, really. :(
