i think the greatest vocal performances by PG is to be found here on Trespass and the lamb. That scruffy, souly quality is what makes him the best vocalist of all time, in my book he beats even Freddie Mercury, whose main influence was actually PG ;)

It's such an underrated album. These guys were 20 years old at the time they recorded the album, amazing! One of Genesis' finest cuts ever, LOVE the whole album, it's a masterpiece of prog rock.

@gerardocoluccini Because I've read on many different pages and forums that it's not a very good album.. See allmusic.com for example. Their music developed so much between 1968-1970, that I can't explain it. Trespass is a masterpiece, with very mature material on it, personally I like it far better than Nursery Cryme.

If you like them, you might like a band - well a duet I suppose - called 'ANYWAY' that do covers of most of those. They have a cover of Hackett's 'Spectral Mornings' which probably makes Hackett jealous. (They struggle with Yes's material mind).

I don't think they've taken a shot at PFM yet ;-)
