Im from the Philippines and I love this fruit. I think my mom craved this fruit when I was conceived that is why I have a strong yearning for this fruit.
Thse are all young trees. I grew up in a pltation with mgsteen, durian rambutan and other trpical fruits. All fruit trees were old, some even 50-60 yrs old, fruits were much bigger(as big as tennis ball). During my young dys, it was all-day-long eating fruits during season. It bears fruit twice yrly almst synchronise wit durian and rambutan comes almost the same time. Old trees has potential of more than 2k fruits per season. tastiest mgsteens r not when they r ripe but when there r still green
The mangosteen is difficult to grow if the environment is not humid and tropical. That's why it does well in Southeast Asia. Thailand and Vietnam grow these as well. It's been tried in the US but not successful.

Best fruit in the world. Like all fruits at once. Really. Hard to find outside Asia - but worth the money.

By far, mangosteen has got to be the BEST fruit in the world. Too bad it doesn't grow in America or France. I'd have a field day.

Not here in Kentucky you can't buy any mangosteens. I looked everywhere and If
I if I did find some they would be expensive here.

I ate durian for the first time in Mindanao, Philippines. Although it has a strong smell, it tasted good.
