This game on the PS3 is a major dis. Framerate issues, lousy AI referee system and graphics are sub par. I played F1 2006 by Studio Liverpool the other day and even that had better graphics and sound than codemasters rendition almost 5 yrs later!

Hey simracingtonight! Could you guys make a brief video for like f1 (the sport, not necessarily the game) for dummies. I've searched all over youtube and my library and haven't been able to find much help. There was a actual "f1 for dummies" but it was so outdated that i wouldn't imagine it to much help. I think it would be a great idea that could help a bunch of people trying to understand the sport. Thanks!

Can anyone help me, i have a dfgt and im finding that no matter what i change in any settings i just cannot enjoy this game, the steering is incredibly heaving until i turn ffb off but then the steering wheel has no weight, can anyone help with the ffb and steering settings?

@PolariceSwiss I completely agree. the physics are on a whole other level too. tracks are perfectly made, cars are very accurate. just a warning to those used to gt5 or forza but there's not a lot of cars, but there are some decent cars. main thing is it's one of the most realistic and highest quality simulations availible and has a great community. if you want to make sure it's the type of thing you'll like before you spend all that money, try netKar Pro, it's only 20 euros ($25 USD)

I like the game a lot...I just think career mode is garbage. They don't give you the option to be any body other than a blonde hair blue eyed driver. Isn't F1 worldwide? What about us minorities?!? BS!!! Plus the helmet choices suck...they should just bring the flag helmet designs back.

@fransarj I have to say, Forza 4 is damn good. And this is coming from an iRacing snob.. For a console game, with THAT many cars, it's really, really impressive. They improved their tire model a LOT. Seriously, it's the cream of the console crop. Plus, all the top gear stuff is insanely awesome. When I'm not on iRacing, I was playing GT5 for casual stuff, but since Forza 4 came out, I literally have no desire to go back to GT5 at all. It's that good. If you don't have it, don't hesitate.

you can reduce the input lag a lot if you turn vsync off and set the audio to software (pc of course)

Guys, I agree with most of the CONS and PROS, but honestly the most realistic racing title on console? On GT5 you can do a hole 24 hour racing... disconsidering it just because the game has a 3, 2, 1 countdown is absurd. I love the way the game feels, but the way it looks its disgusting. How the heck GT5 has solid 60 fps realistic graphics and this F1 has that insult?! Codies let me down for the last time.

I think some fanboys will flip at your "best racing simulator on console" comment but the thing is, there's a difference between being a racing simulator and a driving simulator. like you guys said, practice, qualifying, tire wear, fuel, pit strategy, penalties, flags, etc. all of those are better implemented in F1 '11 & most PC sims. it's more like REAL racing. GT5 has a very realistic core driving/tire model but in other areas it isn't fully realistic (tire wear, colision, & off track physics)

codemasters seems to always put more effort into the xbox version. I find it weird because doesn't F1 sell a hell of a lot better on the PS3? being that ps3 is much more popular outside this country and so is F1 I'd assume so. doesn't matter. I wish more racing sims would have more cutscenes. the few times gt5 and forza do it it's great so I don't know why they limit a great thing. codemasters is always one up on presentation but PD has the edge in gameplay and graphics

hey guys at SRT. if you are interested, you are right the FIA restrict them on the damage they can show on the game. not entirely sure why, but they do - may be as the sponsors on the car don't want to be smashed up.

@FS7kills AI is so incredible slow...I can win almost every race on 50 % race distance and lap everyone at least 1 time....there is no challenge at ALL in this game

ps. I play career with mclaren, on expert (legend AI, no assists)

@MagicXR yes but it doesn't give you a challenge at all..I mean Hamilton can't win in real life...so in the game it should also be challenging. In my first year with williams I won 10 races on expert..so AI is way too easy

Having done research into the wheel settings issue, the game ways input from the "Start" button on the wheel, when you press enter on a keyboard it is assuming you intend to use a keyboard. I press the bottom left of my momo til I get into the menus (press it to skip cinematic and for "Press start" and it remembers my settings so ya its not a bug..its just stupidness from the console port, try pressing every button on your wheel to get past the start menu.

@simracingtonight I really wish you would put out some direct capture from a PS3 so I could decide if I could deal with it or not. You said you 'gave up' on the PS3. You also gave up 1/3 of your review. You should have gone into detail about how it plays on the PS3 and what's different besides gfx. F1 2010 was playable on PS3-- is this? I don't know.. I should after watching the review though, but you didn't cover that.

Note guys it does save your graphics and wheel settings but when you load up the game you must hit the button on the wheel not the keyboard/mouse first. also note it does not hang or crash at all on my ps3 or pc versions.

F1 2011 is the best simcade game ever made.....but the ISR reviews are hampered as they have to appease iracing nutters and basically apologize if the game isn't a hardcore sim.

The game works well with my G27, FFB is decent and car feedback is much better than crappy arcadey 2010.

Strange... mine is PC version and it never crash.. again NEVER CRASH with DX11, Windows 7 Professional 64bit. The real problem for me is I use wheel separate from pedal set, although it does support multiple input but it never remember settings so I have to set my controllers over and over again every time I start up the game. FIX THE DAMN THING CODEMASTERS!
