  • and Afrikaans

  • This guy gets around.

  • Indeed.

I can't appreciate his Schlager-music over here, however.

Am impressed by what he might transport by this rendition.

there is no better interpretation of this song than this.

  • FORZA RASNA

    shosholooooozaaaaaaaaaaaa

    skellelleleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • forzaaaaaa rasnaaaaaaaaaaaa ciao jighen!!!

  • Relax Everyone, No Lotti Baiting, You know Nothing !!

  • Makes me cry EVERYTIME - Cry My Beloved South Africa

  • Yebo!! guys, THIS is a brill song hey!!

  • the one scene was at gga in cato ridge, right?!

  • Sweet home

  • The africans peoples must to be proud even if you are come to the north or south.I think this song could be symbolize the unity of african people. Each time i heard this song i'm feel proud to be an african man. i was born in comoros is the litlle island between madagascar and mozambic and i'm so proud of this country. In african you didn't need to have money. If you have it it's good but if you havent got it deosn't matter.God Bless africa.

  • yes i like the way we are not run by money like america. doesnt matter how bad its gone for u (has for me at times) always proud just to be in africa. feel same way

  • wrong thing to say my friends - the ideals and the way americans live better than africans. i dont se american killing american

  • are you on drugs pixel? have you been to new york and other big crime areas in america? america has just as much crime involving murders as any other country. why do you think you guys have all the detective and polices forces? for robbing convenient stores? uour comment was one of the dumbest things ive seen all week. ive lived in both countries and americans are right up there in the murder rates.

  • crime committed like that and the type and scale that goes on in Africa - there is major difference.

If you cannot see that then ... may God show you the right way.

  • my country is run over with racism whcih results in the unfortunate crimes im aware of that and not denying it. im simply commenting on the ignorance of your statement of how americans dont kill each other. but im also guessing you havnt lived in SA. from my experience its just as scary to live in the US as it is in SA, and i lived in a very dangerous part of SA too, my dad once owning a security company and being a target...may god be with you too

  • what u are saying is so wrong that .... i think you are actually mental.

  • lol....at what point did you think i cared of your opinion? have you ever lived in BOTH countries? dont think so. what was so wrong about my comment? its true. you said "i dont see americans killing americans." so why are is USA among the top murder rates of the world along with SA? you cannot judge the ideals of a nation by their crime rates. its like me saying america is fatest nation in the world, bad ideals to live by....yet the country is not all like that...

  • love this song!!! reminds me of home!

  • A great version....loved by a lot of people here in Fiji....a favorite theme song

  • Lovely, really enjoyed this version. There's something so moving in this song, the rhythm with the Djembe and the melody. I like what he does with it but not really the orchestra bit.

  • Lyrics: Shosholoza Ku lezontaba Stimela siphum' eSouth Africa Wen' uyabaleka Wen' uyabaleka Ku lezontaba Stimela siphum' eSouth Africa

  • Absolutely fantastic!!!!!!!!

  • Shosholoza.. is fantastic!

  • Ik hou van deze muziek, als er ritme in zit daar word ik zeer blij van !!

  • By the way here's the lyrics.

    Copy from Wikipedia

The lyrics differ from recording to recording, as do the transcriptions. Here is one example:

A rough translation: Move fast on those mountains train from South Africa. You are running away on those mountains train from South Africa.

  • by the way, this song was originally sang by Zimbabwean/Rhodesian(at that time) mine workers. It was originally sung in isiNdebele, a Nguni language spoken in Zimbabwe, a very close cousin to Zulu. The original lyrics went "Stimela s'phume Rhodesia" It has evolved.

A beautiful song indeed. Makes me proud to be part of it's history.

  • I'm half white and half black. Tell me, why can't a white person sing this song? This song can be sang by everyone. read the lyrics before being all racial!!!

  • im a white african and this means just as much to me as it does to any african. im no hippie but i dont get why whites and blacks cant get along. i have black friends and white friends. i lived with blacks and whites in africa for years and we all got along. why cant it be like this in the us.

  • flamink if you don't like my comment it's not my problem this is the truth and you have to accept it, and a public place like youtube is not a place for fights, americans are worthless for me already you show what you are in middle east

  • my comment was for nsarantopoulos

  • nice

  • Great...!!!

  • I learned this song from a friend in a summer camp! :D

  • he is probly one of the few caucasians who had the guts and the voice to sing this kind of song in the proud way he brings it.

  • i prefer for sure the real swazimusic, this has nothing to do with the real soul of Africa. Helmut lotti stays home plss, U can't, u haven't the soul

  • Wow... Helmut Lotti is Belgian too (not that we're proud of that), in case you didn't know. And it's my impression that the average Belgian is a tad more worldwise than the average monolingual Brit who gets everything from Anglo sources.

    Carry on, old chap.

  • only whites?

sorry nsarantopoulos but u guys are pretty brutal too

if u had invented guns first u would have put us in slavery.

so please next time enjoy the music and shut up

  • That was nice from helmut lotti, shosholoza

  • i learned this as a little boy in South Afirca! brings good memories

  • I think I would prefer the tradional swazi music...Helmut Lotti is just so poor !

  • South Africa's unofficial anthem...refleting the wonderful spirit and rhythm of the rainbowland.

  • Is it only me that thinks of spitzbub saalbach in Austria when i here this song?

  • also me i had live in philippines in asia that also those people they are so good and so open, only the white race europeans and americans are the race that only problems bring to the other races, forgive me if i am insulting any one for that but that is the truth

  • only caucasians brought misery to the world? whatever gets you through the day, buddy.

  • Hey mate!!there is always two sides to a story. So next time read the story properly!!!Blame yourself and leave the rest of us alone!!

  • hier zou ik uren naar luisteren!

  • Bei den Lied fühle ich mich als Mensch. So Emotion. So beatyful.

  • Great, I stayed in Swaziland for 5 years in a place called Bulembu I loved it and the people are great. I now live in Australia but my hart is still in Africa where i lived for 30 years. thanks for the memories.

  • WOAH, you lived in Africa yrs!!!! You must be missing the land of your youth I should think and yo all the way in Aussie, thats like 1 million miles away!!!!lol. God Bless.

  • Great video. FYI Helmut is making a rare USA tour June 20-23, 2006. See www.helmutlotti.be or www.lotticonnection.com for details.
