  • Legend!

  • I remember watching this before I went out for my usual Saturday night out with my mates, they had all seen it, and believe me they were in the same rocking mood, it did inspire, it did make us feel invicible, we owned the world, and for a while we did, now we have relinquished that ownership to a bunch of disrespectful, drug addicted, smelly, workshy [ricks,

  • Gonna "ball it up" gonna "ball tonight". Surprised the uptight establishment let this double entendre eek by. Cmon, if they knew what was the obvious the tune would've been banned or at least some lyrics scrubbed. Good play on words though to keep the sex in R&R

  • it's not right without his pi-ah-no!

  • Hey it's friday now, but who cares ? It's great party song !!!!

  • Sounds Incorporated do a good job backing Richard!

  • What is this live ???

    Very great performance.

  • if you study these videos from the 60's you will will see certain girls featured, I saw a Jerry Lee Lewis video showing a young girl with nice tits, then I saw the same girl in a Little Richard video, I have since read that these girls were eager to forgoe their virgivity for money

    virin

  • the one and only mr rocknroll

  • 6 дислайков!?? че ебанулись ослы!?

  • Little Richard is the ultimate SHOWMAN.

  • Little Richard is not a black elvis.elvis was a white Little Richard :-D

  • THE ROCK IS BLACK, and so does the blues, and the soul, and the funk, and the reggae, and the hip hop... ;-)))))))))))))))

  • @RosaBarroca

well, you just gave the white people the worse music xD

  • @chobalbarraza ;-)))))))))))))))) the "white" people can be awarded with "classic", and "new age", and "rondó" and... what about it?

  • little richard and chuck berry are the rock n roll!!

  • why does he never dance.is there something wrong with he's hip???

  • @yakulanicksan no he would just make chuck norris cry

  • @kadburyk nice.but who is chuck norris???

  • @yakulanicksan I heard black people weren't allowed to dance on tv at the time

  • @GeorgeArthas maybe someone can make a book about it.like what the white don't allow other's to do.around the world from the past till now!!! because the white race still do it.only in another way.i'm really disgust about the way white people are.and ashame of every piece of dna i have.that is of the white people.

  • @GeorgeArthas Please don't insult us Brits with this nonsense. This was a British TV special and if you want to see how silly your remark is just take a look at this clip of a similar show of the same period in the UK:.

"Ready, Steady, Go! Otis Redding Special Pt. 4"

  • @leoseries57 I am british, good sir. Just evidently misinformed ;)

  • he's so underrated, such a pity, I love him

  • @alitheprincess Yes, so underrated. Like a Sun on the sky.

  • better than elvis

  • @achemaro Oh man, people just can't appreciate each great artist on his own great and amazing merits without putting somebody down!!!!!

  • @elvicare35 not when we've all been force-fed lies that elvis is the king of rock n roll..and when we finally listen for ourselves we realize elvis is not even in the top 3!! so, you love elvis, that's cool, lots of people do, but to call him the king is just wrong and its a lie. little richard is better than elvis its not a put-down its just the truth.

  • UNIQUE! Had one time rockin' it up as his autobio. attests. I'm just glad he has not been forgotten with time. Along with Jerry Lee one of the untamed legends. Thanx!

  • Little Richard is #2 in the UKs Guardian rock and roll events in history.

  • Black Elvis in my thought.

  • What a great singer Little Richards was. This guy really rocks, I like it!

  • Just saw a video of him where he did this song and looked really weird and did it fast, didn't like it. This one is much better!

  • n 1956, DJ Alan Freed said that LRichard is the real solid rocker. Little Richard is explosive and charismatic. His ostrageous personality captured the music´s rebbelious spirit and his franticallly piano playing and raspy, shouted vocals defined its sound. Little Richard is the real king of rock and roll. All heavy metal band vocalists sing like Little Richard, in other words, at full volume. He was the symbol of rejection. Elvis was the symbol of conformity and served in the army.

  • one of the greatest rock and roll singers ever...ever...ever!!

  • WTH! where is his band????

  • GODDAMN LIL' RICHARD IS THE MASTER OF ROCK AND ROLL!!!!

  • Damn. Just....damn!

  • he played at my great uncles club in london, some time in the 50's ,maybe 60's with screaming lord such.

  • the sax player cares to much

  • he's the real deal. Love that Paul McCartney always payed homage to him with is famous "Woooo"

  • If Little Richard didn't make it in the rock and roll scene, he definitely could have made it in the gospel music scene. He is so good and talented!

  • Rock N Roll is the BEST music in the whole wide world!

  • Wow, in this video was much older that in the videos ¨Long Tall Sally¨and ¨Tutti Frutti¨:) !

  • this is from Don't Knock the Rock, a UK show

  • damm thers so many artist that hav covered this album :0 lol ima listen to as many as i can :P

  • It's a shame how he was ripped off and didn't get the money he deserved for all the hits he made !!!

  • this dude is the legend

  • we co-opted rock and roll from American blacks- like we're in the process of doing that with hip-hop as well.

  • wow he has a amazing vice i also like it when lou diamond philipps sings it

  • This clip is from " Ready, Steady, Go ! " shown on Friday nights from 1963 and introduced by Cathy McGowan with her catchphrase " The week-end starts here ". It showcased popular music acts. The group backing LR is Sounds Incorporated, a British instrumentsl combo which frequently provided backing to visiting US artists as well as performing in their own right. They backed LR when I saw him at the Odeon in Bradford around October 1963 - the TV appearance probably dates from the same UK visit

  • One of the TRUE Pioneers of Rock n Roll.!!! The Originator. 8)

  • WOW !

    ALL TIME BEST

  • if i had to pick a singin voice i would pick little richards

  • Hi Im (!Blaze!) and im a pruducer/ singer songwriter and i have two videos of two songs i wrote and produced there very ruff tracks but ithink ull get the idea if you listen to the whole song on both of them you will be pleased.

PS:Plz leave comments good ones or bad ones

  • Fucking good!!

  • One of my favourite songs of Little Richard.

  • You know his voice is even superb when he's screaming !!!

  • Just think of all the careers he's seen come and go

  • im 12 and i reckon this is awesome

  • @lonleyelephant im a sperm and i rekon this is awesome

  • best voice in rock'nroll!!!!

  • I was looking for this. Thank you

  • This clip & some of the others on here were from a tv show that was on for over an hour in the 60s/70s, due to its popularity it was repeated shortly after, my late brother said it was made in a studio in Manchester his friends sister was in the audience. I inquired about buying a copy but they wanted silly money

  • Let's hope that in the near future we do all get payed so we can rock again.

  • happy birthday little richard

  • screw culural differences....afros knew what rock n roll was about!.....

  • @ichiinc They should! Rock and Roll is just jazz with adhd. A western, integrated F.U. to Hitler's Germany. That's why its dangerous all Metal take on those themes because its a slippery slope between parody and support. Especially when anti-establishment *cough* Slayer *sniff* have been claiming it, or their friends and producers in their name, for the past quarter-century. It seems today that anytime someone attempts moving to Bon Jovi, GNR nostalgia, 90's reps die. Ledger, MJ, Murphy, etc.

  • @Mysterwright Jazz is the blues with adhd,,, early Rock and Roll is the 12 bar element lifted from jazz and blues and repeated over and over for 2:00 minutes... far from adhd it doesn't stray from the formula. Agree?

  • Queria estar nessa época com dinheiro e claro..

  • I would like source on this too :P

  • the girl at 1:21 felt weird because she had no rhythm and the camera was on her

  • Main R'n'r instrument is not guitar nor drums, it's baritone sax... yeahh!

  • I remember when young people were neat and clean looking, when the rock groups wore suits and ties, even the Beatles. The boys had nice hair cuts. those were the days!

  • little richard is the king.....best voice! Plant, Rose, Tyler got nothing on him

  • WOW....look at that sexy band.....they sound good too .....

  • The backing band appears to be Sounds Incorporated which would make this recorded in Engand in the early to mid 1960's.

  • Love to see this released on DVD.

  • This is AMAZING!

  • Filmed at Granada Studios - Manchester - what the fuk!!!?

  • this looks like England. Where did you find this vid?

  • @aerosmythe

I taped this vid from TV some years ago together with send me some lovin also from L.R. where ore when this was ????????????????

  • @wjhmosaenglish03 The backing group is "Sounds Incorporated", my guess would be a UK commercial ITV broadcast, probably Granada TV??

  • @MadCarew72 It was a Granada TV special, as confirmed in Chaz White's biography, circa spring '64. I believe it was on about 8pm on a Tuesday night, at which timeslot you'll apparently find Cops With Cameras now (I just checked)!! Given there were only two channels at the time on British TV, it must have had quite an audience. I remember people talking about it the next day and for some time afterwards.

I was 9yo at the time and I remember it vividly. He was my first musical idol.

  • @wjhmosaenglish03 Cant hear it, !!!!!

  • @aerosmythe This is a clip from the UK TV show Dont Knock the Rock. also featured are Jerry Lee Lewis, Gene Vincent and the Animals. You can obtain the full version from the video beat.com in you`re country. Thats were I got mine. Hope that is helpful.

  • @old65rocker Thanks Rocker!

  • @aerosmythe Hi this was a live tv show called "don't knock the Rock" 1957@ .ATV studios Manchester or Birmingham. The amazing backing group was Sounds Incorporated.from Kent. They had a hit called William Tell in 1965.I saw that tv show when I was eleven. Rock and roll at it,s very best/.Still love it I AM 64 NOW!

  • @27gunner

This is a film from the end of LR's European tour of 1963 - a TV Special was presented in England in 1964.

Great, great stuff! My, my, my!

  • @aerosmythe This clip is from a British TV show called Dont Knock the Rock. Also had Gene Vincent and Jerry Lee Lewis. You can get it DVD .

  • @aerosmythe From an ITV special in 1964.

Saw him at the same time at Newcastle City Hall. He brought the place down.

No fireworks or flashing lights, just pure talent.

The group is " Sounds Incorporated " they backed all the big names in the UK.

  • @STANDREW2 Cool Beans! Thanks!

  • el Si Es El rEy.........................

  • Hey, where's the rest of the Gene Vincent bit at the very end? Oh, and thanks for the post!

  • modern music cant hold a candle to good old rock n roll

  • one of my favorites songs .......cmon rock the house....

  • What's up with that all white band? Most have been the only way he could get on this show. White girls everywhere!

  • thiz song iz soooooo Ahhhhhhh-Mazzzing :) xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

  • I am sick of Hearing Elvis being called the KING.

It's a lie and was a term created by Sam Philips to sell more records.

The real kings need to be respected and given thier own crowns.

Click my user name to find out more.

  • @TrueKiNGofROCK quit fucking hating on the king just listen to the music and love it stop putting racist biased politics in good ole rock'n'roll they was all kings.

  • @TrueKiNGofROCK

Richard and Elvis: Kings. Richard is #1.

  • wow. he's so subdued.

  • A November, 1963 performance from a UK TV Special. Response was huge. LR toured Europe '62, '63, '64, '66, '67, and several times thereafter. Some of his records were bigger hits overseas: Baby Face and Bama Lama Bama Loo, especially.

  • Why't they need 2 bass saxes?

  • I think they are two baritones. The bass sax is an absolute monster rarely played these days.

  • Three would have been too many.

  • Yeah sure, "no life in LR"....... IMPOSSIBLE ! As for his attire, even the Beatles wore ties in 1964.

  • yeaah

  • 1964 England was not the multiracial melting pot it is today.

  • Richard's toured successfully in Europe, including in the UK.

  • Killer horn section.

  • If I had Little Richards voice, i would never stop singing. Ever.

  • @bigbentbone same here!

  • Great stuff, backed by the fantastic sounds incorperated.

  • please remember that hair grows. even on black folks:)

  • please remember that hair grows. even on black folks:)

  • The BEST of his era

  • What happenned to his hair? Guess he's not wearing his wig. Rock on- L.R.!

  • Ya, Imagine Little Richard banging with today's tech, holy hell.

  • He doesn't need "today's tech" he actually knows how to play

  • this was from a brilliant short concert on Granada TV Uk. i remember watching it first time round

  • Thank gos we had better sound recorder in these days than film's recorders

  • Rock and Roll....one of the first integrated gigs in the US. True musicians didn't give a damn about color....just about rockin' numbers, and I think that is cool. Just plain cool.

  • I only saw one black face in that place. Hardly "integrated."

  • Television wasn't integrated in the 1960's. You had to write for free tickets weeks in advance for a TV show audience seat and then hope you got to see a good act.

TV shows were filmed in either NY or LA for the most part.

  • Man... what a voice! He's the real king!

  • @ralgarte Yes He Is.

  • The TV cameras are the size of refrigerators. WTF!

This must be a video from England or Germany. Little Richard drove fear into the hearts of crackers and red necks. They thought he was after their daughters. The jokes on them.

    GREAT ROCK n ROLL TUNE!

  • ya that's why the backing band was white.

    moron.

us rednecks knew a thing about rhythm and blues.(others called us hillfolk, and we played 'country' music)

funny you should mention germany along with cracker and "red neck". learn some damn history.

  • @mfnheff

Little Richard did a couple of numbers in the movie "The Girl Can't Help it" starring Jane Mansfield. When I watch the movie in New England the Little Richard clips are included. I've seen the movie a couple of times in North Carolina. Last viewing 2006. Little Richard is cut out of the movie. Interesting.

If you want history google Negroes Lynching Hanging

  • Truly "the Bronze Liberace" Long Live Richard.

  • oh man LR was way better then liberace.

  • Bless you for this post. THIS is what motivated so many 60's white rock bands. Beatles, Stones, Dylan...this is fundamental rock and roll. Thanx again ~

    OUTSIDETHEBOCKS

  • WOW! I'd like to dance to that. See me dance. Search "missroon" and watch the first video 2.49 minutes to the surprise ending

  • Takes me back to my teens , Richard you are the KING

  • It's beautiful raw rock & roll...the way I like it!

  • Correction........

fantastic - with the second a.

  • Absolutely 100% fantstic.

  • Magnifique :D <3

  • This is his best song. Too bad he didn't write it, but it's ok. Awesome voice as usual. His gospel upbringing makes it more powerful.

  • umm wasnt his best song true fine mama was his best

  • Awesome............

  • Thanks again Little Richard!

You are total rock and roll!

  • What a voice and what a performer - the king of everything!!!

  • Fantastic to see this. LR has been a life long hero already from early 1978 when I first listened to "Tutti Frutti" on the radio. Hooked immediately! No regrets!

    The Dragon

  • whos song is this? Lil Richards or Bills?

  • That's a good question. The song was written in 1956 by Robert Blackwell and John Marascalco. They gave the song to Little Richard and Bill Haley and hoped that one of them woud record it. They both recorded it and Little Richard had the biggest hit with it.

  • Little Richard has a little moustache LOL

  • This song is Little Richard's. I can appreciate all of the different coverages of this song. BUT, Little Richard is the top!!

  • amazing always,,,

    sweet

  • does ritchie valens sing this song???

  • yes

    incuding elvis presley

  • Music for the soul!

  • I love all versions of this song. I am addicted to this song. Lennon, Elvis and Richard all have different takes to the song.

  • Me too, Bob, but I believe nothing can be compared with Richard's original Specialty 56' record. Greetings from Spain.

  • king of the pill. huh huh

  • elvis died on the shitter fuck him and you.

  • Little Richard has such great delivery. One of the best in rock history, for sure.

  • this is the MAN !

  • There were a whole lot of other postings from this show but they have all disappeared. Could we have them back please?
