I was there first row, Michael was NEVER booed. I am sick and tired of this idiotic BS that media and tabloids invented! It was never said he would perform in the first place, this is what media wanted everyone to believe. Actually before MJ entered the gala he clearly said he would not perform. @rumbuoy British Tabloids made up that stuff --it was Rhianna who was booed because the people only went there to see Michael, even the celebrities were waiting for Michael and no one else. When Rhianna performed, she got booed because people wanted to see Michael and didnt care for anyone else

First off - Michael had only been invited to turn up and recieve an award. Nothing more. But the press had portrayed it as though it was the KOP's come back performance, when it wasn't anything of the sort! He hadn't planned on singing atall!

I was at the show and the booing happened after the crowed (made up of mostly MJ fans) had waited so long for MJ to come on and had expected some kind of performance, but instead he just came out on the podium to accept his award, then gave a little speach and then walked off backstage. Then later on, when the show was getting near the end, an artist was announced to come on for their performance and everyone thought or hoped that it was finally MJ, but instead it was Rihanna.

So some fans started booing, because they were pee'd off that Michael just apeared for a quick speech and nothing more. Rihanna thought they were booing her, poor girl. Then finally at the end of the show, Lindsay Lohan announced 'We ARe the World' with Michael jackson! The crowd went crazy and Michael did attempt to sing some lyrics but he wasn't prepared to sing because he had only turned up to recieve the award, nothing more.

To the author of the Post. Thank you for posting it. This one actually shows that he was singing great here. You can actually hear it. On other videos the sound was worse. And newspapers reported that he was not really signing at all - 'forgot words', 'was booed from the stage before he started to sing', 'cannot sign anymore' and all other lies that would sell at this time.

The BBC news site has a video of the same performance and on that video, they've absolutely chopped off MJ's voice and his mic. You don't hear him sing at all. And the reporter absolutely bashes MJ and concludes that he cannot even sing anymore. That bastard on BBC should be punished.

I looked up that BBC news video again today, and I notice that they've recently edited the news clipping by adding new fake-boos (during MJ's acceptance speech) and they've also cut out portions of the video where you barely hear MJ's voice and they've also renamed the story's title. It's now, "MJ returns to stage" and not "MJ struggles to sing", which I think was the original story title.

Those bastards are still at it. lol!

I agree that American media (and to some extent the British media) are really bad and constantly bad mouth MJ. That makes me not like America that much, you know.

And they did not cut the song. The song is about 4 mins long and it was natural ending what we see. But they (the organisers) definitely botched up the sound. If the audience heard it and the tv viewers did not, it means, the sound guy may have mistakenly botched it or deliberately botched it. I say, it was deliberate.
