I have used Android 1.5, 1.6, 2.0, 2.01 & 2.1 on my HTC Magic.. reverted back to a themed 1.5 now because of conflicting issues with new apps on 2.1.... I gotta have my apps!

@Golfinnder I am currently using HTCClay's SuperBadCM5 v1.5.1.. it's a 2.1 Eclair ROM with ADW launcher. I always pay for my apps.. like to support the devs.

Im going to buy this phone, since HTC is planing to bring the Sense UI to the non-US version. Only con is that there is no 3.5mm phone jack.

It's not a problem to get an adapter for the HTC Magic.. I have one and listen to my music with oversized headphones. The only con is that the phone didn't come out years ago.

i have the tmobile mytouch. its a good phone but how did he do that password thing in the beginning

I enabled the password in the security settings. Got to: SETTINGS; SECURITY; UNLOCK PATTERN... whatever you do.. do not forget your password :)

uhh... here in Germany its the HTC Magic, but with the late release in the US tmobile called it the mytouch 3g.

Excellent choice with the Magic... I love this phone! As for where I am... I am in Regensburg. The same city that sheltered Oskar Schindler and the current Pope.

Im an definately getting this phone or the g1 soon it looks great, the unlock pattern is pretty funky too :) Still cant decide between this or the g1 as I can get the g1 on a cheaper contract

Get what's within your budget. If you like the G1 get that but the Magic is nice! Alot of people say that it can't compare to the Hero, but to be honest I don't need my phone to be my camera.. I have one as is evident in the video. Yesterday I heard that HTC Magics will be updated with the Sense UI in October.. possibly for free. I am happy I got this phone... whatever you get.. I hope you are as happy!

Well a lot of reviewers are foreign and they talk funny thereby making it hard to understand some of the things they are trying to point out. As for people with Crapple iphones... they are merely sheep and have one just because they want to conform. This is evident because they often erroneously believe that the iphone is the first touchscreen smartphone. It is neither the first nor the best... but this is nothing new. Just glad I know better.

i got the htc magic unlocked an u r rigth this is a cellphone for people who really know what a good cellphone is . The iphone doesn't give you what you need. with this pda you don't have to be attach to itunes this one gives you more freedom . i am fully satisfied with my magic

Looks like the w850i but its the w830i. I ordered it unlocked from an international retailer. Sold primarily in Asian countries... not really in the US.

I am completely satisfied with my Magic. It's not my first smartphone and it works well. It lacks some things and could use another firmware update but the phone is really nice. People always look at it when I pull it out.. totally relieved to see something other than a Crapple iphone.
