  • what comes around goes around, karma is a bitch it cant be escaped, everyone gets theres in the end. a seperate company will present itself eventually.

  • Invaluable information for anyone contemplating a trip to Vegas (which I WAS doing). I've had the same experiences as the people in this video in many cities. The ADA does not require taxis be wheelchair accessible but regards Para Transit as "equivalent" which it isn't. Even in those cities where medallions for wheelchair accessible taxis are less expensive, there is no one to assure the driver picks up people in chairs. It's faster to pick up an able-bodied person. No ramp, no tie downs.

  • i agree

  • You guys neeed to know there only 2 handicap vans per 100 cabs. You act your intitle for cab . Some cabs drive 30 minutes out there way . To get yell at. Then get 50 cent tip . Is that nice. They are just tring to make a living

  • I'm not blaming you, but if that's the case then your city needs more handicap vans. It's very difficult for someone to have to wait that long for a ride. Disabled people have lives too.

  • there also limos you can use they do wheelchair. i see cat bus go to people house. Also remember the cab driver only about 35% of the meter. they also pay for own gas. you need also to remember there is alot money on the strip. on busy like friday or saturday cab driver would lose money if he goes off the strip. Unless it's big fare it's not worth it.

we also have family and kids we need to support. it not fun to do rides you lose money on .

  • make friends with one driver and then call him. if no driver gives you the number because not making money with ride or your mean to cab drivers

  • First of all, I should tell you that we don't live in the US. We live in Canada and don't have limos available for wheelchairs.

  • Thank you for making this video.

  • Some of these people are so full of shit it's pathetic. You are stereotyping all Taxi cab drivers. I own a taxi in my city. I am an independent, which means I dont have a fleet of cabs. I never disrespect anyone let alone a person in a wheel chair. In fact I used to pick up a guy in a wheel chair, I would push him to the car, help him in and put the chair in the trunk. Dont judge all by a fews actions! THATS where your cripple in my opinion.

  • i agree everyone waits for cab

  • lol..

  • hahaha...real funny, right? which part of that is funny again, I don't remember...

  • the whole video... great job!

  • shut the fuck up!!!!! ive been in a wheelchair for almost twenty years buy a car put some hand controls on it and drive yourself you lazy bastards!!!!!

  • lmfao...

  • b.s.

  • being in a wheelchair isn't the only disability ther is...and plus, if you needed to take a taxi, would you expect good service?

  • Excuse me, but not everyone with a disability is able to drive. My sister uses a wheelchair and we frequently use taxis to get around.

  • well, don't any of them have a friend to give them a ride?

  • not all friends have the equipment...or are available at the time when they need a ride....would that same question be asked to any other citizen?

  • Jeez why dont these people just ride a bike or something...

    oh wait...

  • Hi all My name is Travis M. I work for People First as well I like this Video you have made!

This is why I try to void rideing Taxi it's not worth it. If you get time check out some of my videos See Ya

    Travis M.

  • Christ, I thought I had problems but now I feel grateful I've still got the powers of both legs and can walk home from anywhere in my city!

  • The taxi industry is too busy cannibalizing itself to help others. Drivers are put under extreme amounts of pressure to bring in an impossible amount of revenue. The companies and the taxi authority are doing such a poor job in their respective capacities that this will be no easy fix. First, how will your company pay it's drivers? How will you prevent your drivers from being unavailable because they are staging at the airport? Are the disabled being used here to justify another greedy co.?

  • My sister Michelle is a wheelchair user. She can bear weight, but only enough to transfer. A wheelchair van driver once initially refused to allow her to stay in her chair, stating that she could climb up into the front seat of the van. He got very angry when we told him that she was going to stay in her chair as she couldn't do what he wanted her to do, and even angrier when I pushed her up the ramp myself, making him take the call. We reported him immediately, and he was suspended.

  • you need follow the rules guy you can not do that

  • No ... he was the one who needed to follow the rules, my friend. She was in her wheelchair, and he was driving a wheelchair van. He had absolutely NO right to tell her she couldn't stay in her wheelchair. She couldn't climb up to get into the passenger seat, anyway.

  • yes he can get if lady does he can get it trouble that is why he yell at you.

  • No, he yelled at her BEFORE I pushed her chair up the ramp. He yelled at her when he first came to pick us up. He wanted her to transfer into the front passenger seat, which is absolutely impossible for her to do in a van. She can only weight bear and isn't able to climb up. This driver was most DEFINITELY in the wrong. If he's driving a wheelchair van and she's in a wheelchair, then he's in the wrong. The cab company fully agreed with us too.

  • OK a few things come to mind here, first off there IS a company that is dedicated to just handicapped people. #1 is that in Vegas there is a very small amount of handicapped equipped vans in Vegas. I think there is 10 in the whole dam city. And the biggest reason is that you people don't tip for shit....listen to these whineing little bitches.

  • this is a very small percentage of the customers. most times with traffic they are with in 30minutes at your door. Give respect to get respect. They are all trained in special services and dont need to be instructed. if you call the T.A. as your being long hauled or if you think your being taken the driver will lose his permit. 85% of drivers go above and beyond for the customer and are honest.

  • my son is disabled, and i had a man who wouldn't let him in the taxi because of it. i told him (since i all ready handed the money) that either he let my son on that instant or hand me back my money. he chose neither, so i called the police on the spot.

  • What a shame. It is just another group of

people being treated unfairly. A lot of mistreatment of people going on since the elites control most of our country. I am sorry to hear that these Taxi companies are being so disrespectful to these people. It is disturbing to say the least.

  • and the thing is, most people aren't speaking out about this...I have a handful of stories...20+...but that is just the people I came in contact with who were willing to share their tale...there are many more who remain silent...and that continues the cycle...

  • You can break the silence and end the alienation and separation, freesouljah. I know you have it in you as you appear to have a wondrous energy that shatters all barriers. You're a saint in my book!

  • are you for real everyone wait for cab . the very few handicap cabs there is 32 handicaps cab for the whole city Were in business to make money.

  • The top one percent of the elites look at all of us as peasants. Even the veterans coming home from the war. You must have empathy to have morality. WE have a long way to go in this country before we see morality in our fellow humans. The Zombie masses have become so selfish in society. I hope the world see this.

  • a lot of veterans are coming back as amputees...and they need special attention when it comes to transportation services...

on the subject of elites and war...I think bob dylan sums it up very well in "masters of war"...

  • I agree. I adore Dylan and the genius of his words.

  • Their selfishness is their doom and will lock them out of the gates of heaven forever.

  • Sorry babe. I am an agnostic. But do believe what goes around comes around. I live a peaceful life because of my goodness. Sad people do not see this enlightenment. One love.

  • Pardon me, I was speaking about the heaven that the people could build on earth now, not in the future. We can take the exodus from evil and rebuild our lives so that no one owns us. If you are already there, then perhaps you would like to share this with a world hungry for your knowledge.

  • why not two love?

  • Las Vegas does NOT have a ride program for people with disabilities? I thought Las Vegas was a rich city - I guess it's a rich city that doesn't give a damned about its people. I'd f'in' move away from there.

  • we have 'paratransit' here in las vegas...but it is only for people who pass (fail) a test on the persons functionality...many people can't use the service because they are "too functional"...so they are left trying to get other forms of transportation...

  • I guess it's too bad the disabled don't have an extended family or support group to help take care of some of their needs, like a ride to a doctor's appointment. I've taken my paraplegic brother to the doctor when needed. By the way freesouljah, you're doing a great service for these people by making known their needs. You have a lot of journalistic qualities bringing out truth. Peace, Bro, you're tops!

  • u should start ur own taxi company brother! ;) you're a goodman souljah

  • we are working on it man...we are trying our best...but getting a license in this town is an uphill battle to say the least...

  • I have had similar experiences and it has always happened in big cities. I am certain it is assumed I am not worth the money when there are much wealthier clientele with less effort.

  • isn't that such BS? a mixture of greed and discrimination... :(

  • AccessLynx caters to just the disabled in Central Florida .

  • we have 'paratransit' here in las vegas...but it is only for people who pass (fail) a test on the persons functionality...many people can't use the service because they are "too functional"...so they are left trying to get other forms of transportation...

  • Once I had minor surgery, but I wasn't allowed to drive home so I arranged for a taxi. I was assured the taxi would be there within the hour. Three and one-half hours later the taxi finally arrived, but rather than drive me home the dispatcher told the driver to drive 25 minutes in the opposite direction to pick up someone else. I hadn't eaten in 24-hours and was a bit weak from the surgery. The driver objected to the dispatcher. The dispatcher argued. Then she tried to argue with me!

  • craziness...yeah, I have heard some crummy stories about dispatchers as well...

hopefully you made it home safely... :D

  • Thanks. I did make it home. The driver disobeyed the dispatcher and took me directly home. He thought she was crazy!

  • right on!!

  • this is why i don't give tips..

  • you dont tip.. cause your a creep
