  • I've read that these blokes didn't know how to play their instruments when they started out. Pretty amazing considering how great their music is.

  • @CodyRicheson what? Why would they even make a band if they couldn't play instruments...

  • @lettuceo0, oh, you know how shitty critics can be of anything based on the punk and metal movements. They act like the musicians are nearly incompetent.

  • @CodyRicheson Fair point..

  • Lovely years of childhood spent listening to Madness! Greetings from Montenegro!

  • These day's people wearing baggy trousers are hip-hoppers and skaters. Nothing wrong with skateboarding, but Hip-Hop? What a disgrace.

  • In this nations condition of today we'll all be gangsters riding skateboards with "baggy trousers" buckled below your knees. Indecent exposure allegations may be a thing of the past.

  • Even though I am only 15, I remember me and my brother used to own a Divine Madness video, we would watch it every evening and sit and gawp at the screen.

Not so long ago for my dads birthday I surprised him with tickets to see them at Southbank, never seen him so happy in my life and I am glad to have shared that with him. They are and always will be one of the few things that keep us so close.

  • Smashing up the woodwork tools!

  • listening this in... oh wait that's right nobody cares!

  • im still in school but i love this born in the wrong generation i love the 80s

  • The fact that Madness actually WROTE their songs is another fundamental nail in the coffin for music of today. If anyone seriously believes One Direction wrote any of their songs, then I'm a badger's uncle.

  • DOES ANYONE ACTUALLY LIKE THIS SONG OR IS IT JUST AS FUNNY TO EVERYONE ELSE AS IT IS TO ME

  • The song Westlife sung on Children In Need the other day got them a Number 1. It is called "You Raise ME Up" and is yet another Cover Version that got them a number 1. The song belongs to an American Music Artist by the name of Josh Groban.

  • A song that I'm sure will reach, or has already reached the #1 spot in the UK because the sad pathetic little girls will pester their mums so much the mum has to give in and buy it for them. Many great songs through history never reached the number 1 spot and you got JLS and One Direction getting them. Westlife have had 13 UK #1s and Rolling Stones have had 7..are they really twice as good? Let us see if Westlife last 6 DECADES...and their "songs" are ALL Cover Versions.

  • @ eddytally99 - No, JLS and One Direction don't make fake music, they make TERRIBLE MUSIC. How can they call themselves a "Band" when they don't play Instruments? Most don't write their own material and the majority of the time they are miming. JLS are simply awful, all their songs sound the same, you hear 1 you heard them all. Whenever I see 'em on TV I switch Channel IMMEDIATELY. I watched X Factor last week and couldn't hold my laugh in @ One Direction MIMING to an absolutely Abismal song.

  • Age shouldn't come into it when it comes to liking certain genres of music. There's nothing wrong with 15,14 year olds liking Madness like I've seen some people on this page say. This song is from like the 1980s, I'm 22 years old and like some of the music from the 1960s and 1970s. In my opinion the greatest music that EVER existed come from the decades 1960s-1980s. Was some okay music in the 1990s but once it got to the year 2000, the majority of Music died.

  • listening proudly in november 2011 im 14

  • This is proper music.

  • ah, nothing like someone with a guitar miming to a song that doesn't have any guitar in it

  • @hairballrocks what about the bassline?

  • @hairballrocks There is a guitar, choppy 3 note chords, i can hear them, clear as daylight.

  • Great song!

  • I'm 14 and I love madness and other 80's shit but I don't tell people becase they would say I'm gay :( but I know nearly ever band

  • @alexjack97 Liking bands such as Madness and The Jam is something to be proud of mate!

  • Thumbs up if you're wearing baggy trousers

  • When my mate died he had "One Step Beyond" Written on his tombstone

A true Madness fan R.I.P Andy

  • oh what fun we had!!!

  • Ahh!! 240p!!! i fear you...

  • I always wear baggy trousers and this is my ringtone...

  • Best thing ever - The world needs more MADNESS

  • this is madness!

madness?! THIS IS... oh wait, yer actaully quite right.

  • madness are the only band that can pull off a harmonica solo

  • Now that Youtube is officially dead - from advertising - what are we moving onto??

    Sorry, little bit nutty!

  • @PussFuc I hate having to point this out to people, but if youtube didn't have adverts, you'd have to pay for an account.

  • @MyBeardOfDefiance If you hate pointing it, why bother...

  • @henry707 Because some people need to the facts when they're trying to make a point.

  • @MyBeardOfDefiance Give it up mate, no one is interested in your trolling.

  • @henry707 You clearly don't understand the idea of trolling. What part of my post was trolling?

  • @MyBeardOfDefiance You're doing it now - go & watch Star Trek or something.

  • Most bad ass band out of England ever !! Thats right I said it.

  • I love their songs <3 <3

  • What I was to know is, how the fuck was that dude flying? There is clearly some magic involved in this music video.

  • 200 trousers are too tight

  • I came here because of the Kronenberg advert (:

  • I see lots of people with baggy trousers, but no one of them is flying

  • If you love Madness, you'll dig the band PapaFish, seriously recommend checking them out, sick sound and new band to boot.

  • I was talking about songs at school and my teacher said i should look this song up

  • when was the trouser song writ?

  • I saw Madness in 1980 @ Friars in Aylesbury : Supporting them was - Secret Afair and The Specials ... There was a few skinheads there but mostly the place was full of MODS who flocked to the place om Scooters... The Early 80s was post punk rock and became a revival for Skinheads and MODs (As well as New Romantics of course)..

  • Saw them at Reading this year. They were amazing :D x

  • cockney shuffle ... is buy far the best dance to do to this

  • @djmdotelement its a SKANK you dick not a shuffle!

  • @rooftopsnwhanots have u seen it lol ? ..no u cock its a shuffle

  • is this like a KKK vid? am I missing something??

  • @boxanova66 wtf? KKK? this is frigging 1970's SKA you're talking about here, it is entirely based off black music. Yes, there were many skinheads- the bad ones mind you- that were fans due to there non-racist predecessors liking the same music, but the actual Ska bands HATED the racist skinheads coming to their concerts, etc.

  • terrible sound quality wtf

  • i think it was hard to put coloured (not meaning to be condisending )people in music videos because in the 70s there was still a lot of rasicsm my dad grew up then and he said if you where coloured the teacher would turn their noses up and make snide remarks so its more to do with yes coloured and non coloured people can get along just fine no need for wars or murders we are all the same just differant disent so i reckon coloured and noncolured people should be treated the same no matter what !!

  • they were like the D12 of the 70s

  • 19/09/11!
