  • Thanks for posting. Was this filmed with the Panasonic SD60?

Am thinking of buying this camera. Your footage looks pretty impressive and gives a good idea of its performance.

  • @blutey

Yes this was filmed with sd60 and thanks for the comment :)

You should know that I have uploaded this same video again in even better format which is the same as off the camera. Yes it is very good. If you look at the new improved version of the Vid you will see it handles even the fast moving scenes very well......

  • nice hd looking vid there buddy well doneand thanks for the info on the corel forum

  • @1967spud

  • A-ma-zing footage! Just beautiful

How long have you been filming on the island?

  • @NatasjaKruithof

Thank you for the kind comment, i appreciate it. By the way I liked your kites hunting video too. you filmed that really close to where I live :) They are probably some of the same kites in my "kite feeding frenzy " video ! small world eh?

I spent 1 week in Mull filming... Its the kind of place you can never spend enough time :)

thanks for taking the time to comment

  • Hi, loved the video, I have a question about the image quality.

If you look at some of the faster scenes, like the flying eagle (3:58) and pause the video, you can see two separate images at once, the eagle and a "ghost". This happens whenever something moves fast in the scene. Many times the ghost image is visible even without pausing, and I find it disturbing.

Is this ghost image caused by the video format here or is it the camera's fault? Can you check with the original? Thanks

  • @Vanwahin1

thanks, check out wildaboutfilms for more info on camera/settings etc.

a fast flying bird at distance (like the eagle) is really pushing the boat out on this kind of camera but all frames look odd paused even dvd's on tv. its to do with how the frame is laid over the frame that came before it. youtube isn't as good as my original but I discovered the other day that its more to do with pc monitor. When I plug the pc into a TV , this vid looks like TV quality.

    thanks alex sally

  • I can't go into big detail here as youtube only allows 500 characters so I give better write up on my website but for filming fast movement, youtube does a real good job 99% of the time and at 720p looks pretty smooth but fast action has an "arty" slow motion look that I quite like. the original on my pc is better but depends on refresh frame rate of monitor. DVD, less detailed, (not HD) but plays bit smoother looks good. plugging my laptop into the tv with hdmi lead looks stunning and hd. :)

  • i'd have preffered keeping the origional audio, makes a bigg diffrence , and kinda keeps the atmosphere going of the shots.

and with the voice over narration.

i'v got the sd60 cant beleive the quality on a hd t.v, and the wide lens is great

  • @antywanty

    thanks :)

I give a bit more space to this camera's set up on wildaboutfilms com my website. but basically real audio is hard to get on a subject that might be a long long way away. On my other videos I didn't use commentary. I know what you mean though And was glad I could use the audio of the cuckoo etc :)

Also when filming this I met a guy using a pro camera that could switch to 50frames per second for fast action. THis would obviously play back smoother but the camera was £10,000 + tripod...THis camcorder was £350. so you pays your money ... :)
